hello lybrate user, Neomercazole is anti thyroid (conventional) medicine, It works by reducing the amount of thyroid hormones produced by the thyroid gland. hence suppose to be taken life-long as it doesn't cure the condition.
You can opt for homeopathic treatment along with anti thyroid medication (neomarcazole) for hyperthyroidism to ensure good results and permanent cure.it is safe, natural and holistic way of treatment. natural homeopathy medicines like calcerea, natrum, etc.; are highl...more

Thanks for the query.
WIth a complicated condition you should have visited a competant endocrinologist right in the beginning. Because Neomercazole is not given during the first few weeks of pregnancy. For Hyperthyroidism if therre is a need Propylthyuracil is given. Please follow the advice of the new doctor. See that you glucose levels are maintained between 90 to 120 mg through out the day. Thanks.

Hello, Thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. However, there is no mention of actual TSH and T4 levels and even the dosage of Carbimazole. Based on whatever stated in the details, the reason for high TSH is excessive dosage of Carbimazole . Normal TSH expected to be maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L at which level most of the symptoms related to thyroid conditions are absent.
Another aspect which is very important point is in case of hyperthyroidism in quite a few patients ...more

You have to take carbimazole to control high t4 levels. You should go for radioactive iodine treatment to cure hyperthyroidism.

Dear lybrate-user,
as you are planning on a pregnancy by next year, it may be wise to continue only carbimazole for control of hyperthyroidism. As soon as pregnancy is confirmed by urine test change over to propylthiouracil for the first 3 months of pregnancy. After this you can change back to carbimazole. During pregnancy the requirement for the tablets usually comes down and the decision regarding radioactive iodine therapy may be taken say a year after delivery

Hello, thanks for the query.
I have seen the details given. The treatment with carbamizole need to be given up to 18 to 24 months in some cases to effectively control excessive thyroid activity. So the treatment with carbamizole has to be continued. Every 3 to 4 months tsh and t4 levels need to be checked to see if normalisation has occurred.
As regards the nodules if the size increases then there is a need to get fnac (fine needle aspiration cytology) to see if any untoward changes have...more
