Citalopram starts its action after 2-3 weeks only. It also acts in a particular dose. Please follow up with your doctor after 2-3 weeks of citalopram. Some persons living with recurrent depressive disorders, may need a mood stabiliser in addition.

yes c pram can hve sexual side efects. But do not worry these re not permament, and if at first place c pram can be stopped you can gradually stop or change med. Do discuss it with your psychiatrist.
