You are fooling around with your mental health with these frequent changes in the use of medication. This on/off medication and I assume you are doing it on your own could worsen your condition. Please be consistent and let the doctor decide the dosage and the duration of medications in the future. Anxiety has all to do with fear and your inability (or so you would tend to think) to handle the same. Fear is based on looking too much into the future and imagining things that usually do not tend t...more

Hi, I am a chronic Major depression patient since more than 15 years. I had very severe major depressive episode 15 years back, with complete numbness of brain, unexplained fatigue, almost nil short term memory with no emotions which severely hampered my otherwise exceptionally sharp memory and cheerful initially doctor put me on flunil 40 mg and Vit E 400 IU this continued for almost 10 years even though in between I had occasional bouts of depression but never that severe as first one. Even though some improvement in mood but my memory issues like poor short term Memory, poor mental agility, severe fatigue and unexplained body pains, anxiety etc not much of improvement. Later I was put on Paroxetine 50 mg, Lamictal 300 mg, buspin 15 mg. Introduction of Lamictal helped in stabilising my mood to some extent, even though not upto desirable level. Earlier the mood used to be always well below base level. Buspin helped me in anxiety. Now the major problem is persisting poor short term memory, lack of fast grasping and process of brain. There is still lot of room for mood elevation from the current level. Kindly suggest add on medication that can elevate my mood above base level ad in particular short term memory issues. Regards.

I think you have done reasonably well for such a long period of depression. I am quite disappointed that you did not or were not guided to seek therapeutic help for your depression in tandem with the medication. It is still not too late to seek counseling help and learn some skills, tools, and techniques to help cope with your disorder. You will regain more composure an feel of higher spirits over time and may need to rely less on medication if advised. It will help in the meantime to do the fol...more

Dear Ramesh,
You are on appropriate treatment pharmacologically. You need to live better with your disorder. You need therapy for it. Come out in detail, with examples of loss of short term memory and how it has affected your life. In the therapy, you will learn different ways of dealing with it. Once that i done, you will be more confident and happy about yourself.

Symptoms of anxiety, tremors since last 1 year needs a comprehensive evaluation. The medication that you are taking may also cause tremors and anxiety. Consult your treating psychiatrist for an evaluation. I would also suggest to get a hormonal profile checked and evaluated. For any further queries ans assistance contact onlien.

The big mistake you are making is that you are not also in therapy. All the issues you describe are exactly suitable to be sought from counseling support. You should have a review of the medication too anyway after you mention these symptoms. The combination of therapy and medication is ideal for a proper recovery. Please attend a personality development course that highlights the five-factorial approach: physical, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual quotients. If you develop in these ...more
