Dear lybrate-user,
If your psychiatrist says, it is due to anxiety. Please believe it and deal with your anxiety in non medical methods. If he says that these medicines don't have side effect, like difficulty in passing urine. There may be other reasons for your difficulty which gets precipitated by any medicine. I don't know your age. But I know you are a man. It may be due to prostate enlargement. Why don't you consult an urologist or get one ultrasound abdomen and pelvis with measurement ...more

Dear Lybrate user. Since you have tried various pharmacotherapy with no desired results, you better resort to psychotherapy and counseling along with yoga therapy. A psychotherapeutic technique called CBT and Yogic techniques like breathing exercises and pranayam methods could be very fruitful for anxiety issues. But it should be tailored to the need of the affected person. Find such kind of specialists in your nearest location or contact me for further guidance, becs I have a good deal of exper...more

I am on antidepressants from the last 6 years. I take lamitor, bupron, fluvoxin and modalert daily as prescribed by my doctor. It has provided me some improvement but the the issue it not completely resolved. The main problem is with the memory. Out of 7 days in a week around 3 days I find difficult to remember things for example my batch mate name. The day I do not take the medicine I keep forgetting after every 5 minutes. There is no mental stress in my life, therefore I don't know what exactly is the root cause. I have heard that mental stress might not be the only reason for depression. Even if it is depression I have never heard it to be linked with memory loss. I am a researcher in genomics and I do fell that some further research in this field could give some explanation. I daily do yoga where I daily put a few drops of medicated badam oil in my nose and as soon as I use it my mind feels relaxed. If I miss my medicine or do not use the oil, the memory loss becomes very evident. May me the oil has something to do with neurotransmitters. Earlier I took only fluoxetine for a couple of years but when I shifted to my present medicines, I found a drastic improvement but now it has become stagnant. Is there some better cure.

Hello, first of all thanks to each and everyone of you for you service to the society. My question is, basically I am on my 50th day of assistance from marijuana. I haven't smoked cigarette for over 4 yrs. I drink once a week moderately. Since I quit marijuana the first few weeks for horrible, experienced almost everything physically & mentally. (anxiety & frequent panic attacks). I spoke to a psychiatrist who prescribed me bupron sr 150 which worked wonders. But while doing physical activities the shortness of breath, lightheaded ness & dizziness was there. One particular day my chest was bothering me and my heart rate was fast. So I did a full body test. Cholesterol ldl was 121mgdl and hdl was 74mgdl. Ecg & chest xray was normal according to the physician I visited. He told me there is nothing to worry about and prescribed me pantozil 40, alegaard-m & etilaam 0.5 mg. Which has comforted me in carrying on my regular activities. The only concern is I still feel lightheaded and dizzy at times sometimes during and after an intense football game (this started happening since I quit, never occurred before). It has definitely improved from before as I am exercising better day by day. I also have chest congestion & mucus which bother me all the time for a while. Should I be worried about the lightheadedness as the physician had told me not to worry it will heal with time. I don't get panic attacks anymore. But the light headed ness makes me paranoid about my health. P.s. My appetite is fine. I eat well everyday. Also regarding my marijuana intake. I smoked on rare occasions between the age 20-24. Smoked frequently from 24-27. However, I have taken breaks in the middle. No issues with my sleep (only issue is after I have an intense exercise, my head feels dizzy while sleeping) neither do I sweat.

Hello, sir. You need not worry about this light headedness that you are experiencing after exercises, I would suggest you to hydrate well during the day and do moderate exercise only for some days. Try to sleep adequately. Don't do intense exercises for someday, let your body adapt slowly. Hope this helps. Thank you.
