Hi lybrate-user, you are suffering from urethral stricture disease, by your history it is obvious that you have undergone viu or visual internal urethrotomy which is a temporary procedure to keep your urethra open. This is a reason why you have been advised self catheterization. You are bleeding while inserting catheter because your stricture has recurred. The only permanent solution to you problem is urethroplasty which will give you long term results.

I am 25 years old male. 2 months back I was feeling dribbling or urine and discomfort in inner thighs. Doctor gave me levoflox 500 mg once a day and roliten 2 mg as he thought it could be uti. But 2 days, I got relief from and urine pressure and output was normal. But after 3 days, again same problem happened with me. I went for ultrasound kub, it shows mild hydronephrosis only in left kidney. Doctor gave me veltam 0.4 mg to pass the stone. After taking veltam 0.4 mg for 8 days it was relief and on the 9th day it started with burning sensation and weak urine stream. Then I went for ct scan kub. In ct scan, it shows mild fuĺless in kidneys due to distended bladder as I was not able to urinate properly. My kft reports were normal as my creatinine was 0.85 and my hba1c is 5.3. There was hesitancy in my uroflowmetry report of 15 sec. Avg flow is 9.7 and peak flow is 16.8 doctor said we consider it normal and he gave me urotone 25 mg and silodosin 8 mg for 2 weeks. For 1 week I felt relief but again on 8 th day it occurred again and now from 17 days I have to apply pressure to pass urine and it comes with weak stream. Sometimes stream is better and but sometimes it is very weak. Abdomen pain and pelvic pain is also there. Yesterday also I consulted with one urologist and he told me that it could be chronic prostatitis as we cannot detect in the above mentioned reports. He prescribed me bacstol 100 mg 3 times a day and alfoo 10 mg once a day. I just want to know why it is recurring and is my treatment going in right direction as I am very depressed. Please help me.
