W.s. On vertin medication for 10 days and was prescribed alprax 0.25 for anxiety for 10 nights. Now doctor has asked me to take 0.25 alprax alternate night for 5 days and then stop. Is it the right course for stopping alprax.

Depends on your anxiety. Alprazolam causes dependence if taken for long term. Better to follow your doc's advice.

Your mother in law may have diabetes and hypoglycemia along with vertigo and need to be examined To make sure if it is hypoglycemia check her blood sugar at the time of what you call vertigo comes and send details preferably in a private consultation with me on this site.

Doctor, My Mother is having tinnitus and she is taking Vertin 16. Also she has rheumatoid arthritis for which she took Sazo 1000, Supracal D, Folitrax and Prednisone for almost 3 years which was described by her physicians. The problem started for last 1 month, she is frequently getting drowsiness and tired. We consulted a neuro physician who took serum test and concluded that she has loss of Vitamin D3. He ha suggested for ReNerve injection for 1 week and to continue Vertin if she has tinnitus. She is getting very much drowsy after taking Vertin and gets tired. How to get her back to normal? Kindly help Her age is 60.

I am 38/ (m). Had a vertigo episode in the year 2010. Ent doc. Cleared the ear wax and thereafter absolutely no issues for the last 10 years. 3 months back I had another vertigo episode, audiometry test ok, eng and vemp have slight right ear/side problem (bppv diagnosed). Exercises and betahistine have given but this time problem persists intermittently and slight tinnitus sometimes for about 5-10 secs only. Now the doctor gave me stablanz pv, caroverine, alzolam, pan d all for 1 month and I am afraid to take the piracetam component as my father used to take it for his alzheimer's disease. Do I really need this piracetam and zinko (cognitive enhancer!) right now?

I am 44yrs old female. Diagnosed with SLE in 1994. Have been on omnacortil since then. With a brief remission period. Now I have been diagnosed with meniers disease and suffer from vertigo. I am on 10mg omnacortil and vertin 16 twice and ditide. Also I have thalassemia minor with Hb 8.5. Please help. Have a poor vision and get dizzy often. Cannot work.

Since you are already using medicines for vertigo. I suggest you to go for vestibular labrynth exercises like dix hallpike etc. Your physiotherapist can teach you these exercises. But only certain types of vertigo respond to those type of exercises.
Please consult a general physician to rule out any other problems.
