There is nothing like perfection (especially regarding treatment of any health problems). Diabetes can be managed in a better way if you can assess your lifestyle and fine-tune some aspects which have a direct bearing on the sugar control. Please read about healthy habits for diabetes management from the internet and adapt them with patience and understanding. The intention behind healthy habits is to keep the body and mind fit and healthy while optimising the effect of medicines being taken. Yo...more

Hello, Thanks for the query.
The prescription is fine. What is important is to see that blood glucose should be brought down to FBG: <100 mg, PP: 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c% <6.8 (even <6%). That will help remain fit and healthy. Thanks.

You can check with your doctor for a general physical examination and also (you can also check the blood sugar levels at home - on and off) to see if the sugar levels are well controlled. You can also take the help of a dietician who can help you with a variety of food choices which will take care of your calorie needs and stay energetic. You can update all your reports and mention other details for more clarification. You can also take the help of Homeopathy which is safe and gentle and can be ...more

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Usually if there is allergy to sulfonylurea, it will be there for all the compounds of that class. So if some one is allergic to glimiperide, then may also be allergic to glibenclamide. Therefore, it is better to avoid this group of drugs all together There are many other options to control blood glucose. The treating diabetologist will be better person to advise. Thanks.

At this young age and of an athletic, you can be fittest person if you decide to switch to herbal support of DM. I will not say to stop your current med now. Slowly when you improve, your potential side effects will start drifting away. Otherwise best of allopathic med can not stop side effects of DM and anti DM drugs. Ask who are suufering from decades. This does not mean that allopathic is bad. Its relevant for acute and emergent cases. But lifestyle improvement is poosible with herbs.
