A nucleic acid test (nat) can usually tell you if you have hiv infection 10 to 33 days after an exposure. An antigen/antibody test performed by a laboratory on blood from a vein can usually detect hiv infection 18 to 45 days after an exposure.

My child age 01 year and 09 months sex male got fever 100 F yesterday. The doctor gave him Augmentin Duo Syrup (Amoxicillin 200mg + Potassium Clavulate 34 mg) he has taken three doses of it. Today his fever has gone upto 104.5 F and not getting down even with Crocin Syrup 120 mg with dose of 5ml at 5 pm then at 10 pm. It lowered to 102F for half hour and again raised to 104. We are continuly doing sponging. Pl guide. We again consulted doctor in hospital and he advised oflox oz and brufin junior, feva go. We have administered one dose of brufin junior half hour ago but no benefit.

I had urine infection for an entire month during our fasting month RAMZAN. I tried treating it a lot and visited many doctors. and then I came across this doctor who gave me suggestion of urine culture so that he came to know the antibiotics I am susceptible too. Later I did an antibiotic course of AUGMENTIN DUO 250 for 14 days which did not work. Later I had to get a cannula and started the injections of AMIKACIN 500 mg twice a day . And its fourth day today. And I feel too weak and get headaches also fever sometimes. Not very high fever yes but a mild fever for some time. Now can anybody please suggest me what am I supposed to do? Because I am seriously very tired of medicines and visiting doctors. I still have cannula on my hand so it would be helpful if you guide me with your expertise.

I made a stupid mistake. Last month I was treated for uti (had nausea, lack of appetite, low grade fever, bitter taste, even though my urine culture came negative. I had given the sample after starting on antibiotics.) nevertheless, the treatment worked and symptoms subsided. Unfortunately, I stopped antibiotics as soon as I got my culture report (just 6 single doses later, while my doctor had prescribed a 10 day course with double dose). Now some of my symptoms are back (bitter taste, and an additional symptom- blood in urine only once.) but most symptoms are milder than before. Should I complete the remaining course of antibiotics or should I start the course from beginning? I took augmentin 625 duo last time. How long should I take it?

Incomplete course of antibiotics in case of uti can result not only in recurrence of the condition but also there is chance of developement of resistance to previous medications. It would be better to go for another culture sensitivity test before starting any medicines if last dose of antibiotic was taken 10-15 days before. Thank you.

On 16 june I feel something stuck in my throat. After touching my back tongue then next day my epiglottis swollen and enlarged. Then I consulted ent specialist and doctor give me povidine iodine salt for gargling 5 days. My epiglottis very little decreased. After that doctor tell me to eat augmentin duo 625 antibiotics for 5 days. But after this medication till my epiglottis high rising and swollen. There is no breathing, swallowing and speaking problem. Please kindly help me how it decreased. Either it go away it's own. Or any problem if this epiglottis seen always.

Amoxycillin can cause mouth ulceration in some patients. In addition to becasule capsules you can apply any anesthetic gel 3 to 4 times a day to get immediate relief from ulcer pain.

Hi, below are my details - 35 M, Job Type- Sitting Job, Computers, No consumption of alcohol, tobacco, cigarette, consumes around only 2 lt of water daily, allergic to dust which makes me sneeze badly if inhaled, acidity is another problem. Since around 6-7 years my throat became very sensitive to chilled water, cold drinks, ice-creams, frequent lemonade, sugar syrup based sweets like Bengali sweets, chocolates in night. After consuming these mostly I will get sore throat followed by fever if not treated on Day 1 itself. Have tried allopathy (combination of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid / Azithromycin/ cetirizine) and homeopathy but it gives only temporary cure. home Doctor examined and told that I have few "diane" in my throat which I can also feel if I touch it with my tongue. Please help my by suggesting any permanent solution of it so that I can freely consume everything.

I cannot understand your word"Diane". Please clarify it. You can do warm salt water gargling of mouth , 3 times per day. Avoid all the things you have said. Avoid fan, AC, cold breeze, heavy traffic, perfumes, smoke due to any source.You need allergy testing, to diagnose the problem, so that you can have long relief., for which you need to consult me online with more details. My grand child aged 2 years, was having slight suffocation in breathing after recovered from viral fever. For the control of fever he was given amoxicillin +Clavulanic acid dry syrup. Slight suffocation at times (kurukal in malayalam language )observed after the recovery of fever which persisted for about a month. Then again consulted with the same Doctor and prescribed, levocetirizine Hydrochloride syrup, Ambroxol Hydrochloride and salbutamol Syrup, Prednisolone Sodium Phosphate solution (5 mg/5 ml 2 times, Montelukast 4 mg tablet etc. I would like to know whether Prednisolone Sodium Phosphate solution (5 mg/5 ml 2 times) is required for this slight difficulty (kurukal) in breathing. I would also like to know, whether this steroid drug will affect the growth of the child or precipitate any hidden diabetic issue. Kindly answer to doubt.

Dear sir after that pain I have consulted doctor urologist and surgeon and I have done scrotum scanning abdomen and pelvis scanning and then ct scan with contrast but in that there is no any such changes and reports are normal after that one doctor is telling that you have hernia and again I have consulted other doctor and has told me you don't have any hernia you take doxofylline for 20 days it will be ok I have used for 20 days then also my pain was not reduced again I have consulted one more urologist and they have prescribed pregabalin and methylcobalamin for 20 days after taking that 20 days then also it has not been reduced and again I have consulted doctor and he has given amoxicillin with clavulanic acid thrice in a day and pregabalin and methylcobalamin morning and evening and diclofenac with serratiopeptidase I am taking this medication from past 3 days when have taken diclofenac and serratiopeptidase the pain is ok after that again the train is coming I don't know what have to do now and kindly prescribe some good medication in ayurvedic.
