Push Liquids. Warm or very cold liquids make excellent cough remedies for kids because they thin out mucus, making it easier to cough up. Plus, liquids soothe a raw throat and keep your little one hydrated. Have your child drink ice water, cold or warm juice, or decaffeinated tea mixed with honey.

Hello lybrate-user, I can see you have given meds for wheeze, hopefully after paediatrician advise. First we have to understand that cough is a protective reflux of the body. Second, the medicine will depend on what causes the cough, whether it's viral uri or allergic type. If it's viral and if the child is otherwise active, playing and eating well, nothing needs to be done other than observation. If there's wheeze the meds you mentioned will help. If the cough is persistent and disturbing child...more

Yes you can give 0.5 ml twice a day, if cough still persists the your child will have to take antibiotic. Please remember it's best getting child treated by pediatrician personally.

Normal Dose for 5 months baby is 0.5 ml twice diluted with water. It is used only in productive or obstructive cough and has many side effects or drug interactions. Hence must be used only on advice of Physicain / Paidiatrician under their direct supervision

Hi. Just gar gar sound is not enough to prescribe asthakind in a baby. I would suggest get his chest examined. Cough syrups should be given with a lot of caution in babies. And whether that sound is due to nasal block or coz of chest issue, examination by a doctor is must.
Furthermore, dose will depend on the weight of the baby.
