Aspirin is an antiplatelet drug. The effect of Aspirin usually last about 5 days. So not taking aspirin for two days is usually does not affect platelet funtioning. In fact before any surgical intervention the aspirin is stopped for dear of bleeding for about one day before to two to three days after surgery is recommended (depends on the nature of surgery.)

Aspirin in low dose (75 mg or 150 mg) is given to prevent platelet aggregation and prevent clotting of blood in small vessels. Whether your father needs it or not can only be decided by the cardiologist or physician examining him. Thanks.

If you have cvi there are 3 modalities for therapy, compression stockings of grade iii are a must for a long duration to avoid any swelling, limb elevation and fluid restriction can be helpful, taking anti coagulants as prophylaxis is indicated, however using aspirin and clopidogrel for cvi is not effective, warfarin was earlier prescribed but with safe anti coagulants like xarelto 15 mg od no need for above medications.
