There are some very bad side effects.
Better take homoeopathic treatment.
Ascoril just suppress cough for few hours and don't cure it.

5ml twice daily
you can go for home remedies like tulsi ginger honey (add honey if child is more than 1 year of age) combination which can be diluted with water and given frequently to the child.
also u can give turmeric with warm milk one or two times everyday.
give warm water to drink as well as nasal saline drops frequently.
try to prevent temperature variations around the child that is from hot to cold and cold to hot environment.
keep the child well covered.

Your baby is vomiting as he cannot spit the phlegm like adults, and your cough syrup helps in liquifying the phlegm so after using it usually babies vomit but that's not a side effect. But if the vomits are excessive please take a pediatrician consultation.

No, levosalbutamol is only used in case of bronchospasm. Only be prescriped by pediatrician. Levosalbutamol can have adverse effects like tachycadia and hypokalemia.

thanks for the query
the most common cause of cough and cold in this age is viral infection. With symptomatic management usually symptom subsides.
You can give ascoril drops, nasivion pediatric drop will also help in early recovery.
The symptoms usually subsides in 3-4 days.
The baby should be investigated if symptoms persist for a longer duration.
Watch for respiratory distress or decrease oral acceptance if you find any consult your doctor immediately

Avoid using any cough syrup without doctor advice because dosage of any drug may be different for different weight and symptoms. You can best use steam inhalation for your child at home. Protect your child from cold.

Hi thanks for your query in 7 month old baby to have a cough you can give syrup ascoril but before starting any medications on home I would like to suggest you to visit nearby pediatrician and get changed examination done and to rule out underlying pneumonia infection of the lungs.
