Ascoril C Syrup
Ascoril C Syrup is a liquid from medication used to treat dry cough and its associated symptoms like runny nose, stuffy nose, throat irritation, sneezing, watery eyes and congestion or stuffiness. It works by blocking the action of histamine in the body. Then medication also comes in the form of pills and tablets.
Do not take the medication if you have medical conditions like bronchial asthma, hypercarbia, hypersensitivity, hypersensitivity to codeine, paralytic ileus and respiratory depression. Other than that elements like sodium oxybate, furazolidone or a monoamine oxidase inhibitor can also react with the medication.
The medication needs to be administered within a seven day period only, if you don’t feel any difference in your condition consult your medical professional for better alternatives, but not overdose the intake of the medication.
You are advised to not use this medicine if you are allergic to it or if you are taking or have taken sodium oxybate, furazolidone or a monoamine oxidase inhibitor within the last 14 days. Before using this drug, inform your doctor if you have breathing problems, glaucoma, heart problems, liver disease, high blood pressure, seizures, overactive thyroid, stomach problems or urination problems.
You can take this drug by mouth with or without food. This medicine is usually recommended only for a short time until your symptoms are cleared. Do not take it for longer than 7 days in a row.

Ascoril C Syrup is a combination medicine works by binding to the histamine H1 receptor, which prevents the action from endogenous histamine. It also behaves as an opioid analgesic with antitussive properties that works by binding to opioid receptors in the CNS. Specifically, it binds to mu-type, kappa-type and delta-type opioid receptors and inhibits the secretion of neurotransmitters responsible for the transmission of pain stimuli such as GABA, substance P, acetylcholine.

- Increased toxicity: CNS depressants, phenothiazines, TCAs, other narcotic analgesics, guanabenz, MAO inhibitors, neuromuscular blockers.
