Pyrithione zinc (Head and Shoulders, Jason Dandruff Relief 2 in 1) is an antifungal drug. It kills the fungus on your scalp that causes flaking. Pyrithione zinc shampoos are gentle enough to use every day. Selenium sulfide (Selsun Blue) reduces fungus and prevents too many skin cells from dying off.

Hello lybrate-user!
mild dandruff can be treated with a gentle daily shampoo. If symptoms are returning then you need to shampoo daily and use anti dandruff shampoo twice a week. If the shampoo which you are using isnât effective then switch to other anti dandruff shampoo which contain zinc / selenium sulphide/ salicylic acid. Moisturise your scalp by applying aloe vera, almond oil at night and shampoo next morning.
