Asked for female, 25 years old from Hyderabad

Sir I have used ferradol syrup along with cyproheptadine and dexamethasone tablets to increase my weight for 2 and half months I have gained 20 kgs and I stopped using those medicines. But present i'm at outside for job purpose so here the food is not good and im getting my weight lose. I don't want to lose my weight so can I use those medicines that I have mentioned above again or is there any side effects occurs can you please suggest me how to gain weight through medicines bcoz the food without side effects because is not available here.

Your medicines do contain steroid inside it and the steroids will be devastating for you. I advise you to eat good foods without steroid medication. You need an extra 500 calories a day if you want to put on extra weight in a week. - protein is the key for muscle building; it will help you gain muscle weight rather than fat mass. Good sources of protein are red meat and poultry, eggs, whole grains. Salmon is high in calories and healthy fats.

Today a usg nd cbc with esr has done .usg is ok but esr 18. Lymphocytes 42% hb 11 Dr. suggested ofloxin cyproheptadine .she has fever n a what should I do now?

I'm using sorliv syrup for my 4 months baby as per doctor suggestion per day 2.5ml and 3 times a day,started from past 3 days and doctor asked us to continue for 15 days because he was doing motion once in two days and he was not comfortable.But now I can see water with his motion like a loose motion.So is this safe to continue for 15 days or shall I stop the syrup?

Greetings, Im suffering from severe constipation from the last 4 months. I have used all sugar alcohols like sorbitol, xylitol, lactitol monohydrate, milk of magnesia but nothing works. I'm taking 30-35 grams of fiber and 2-3 liters of water bit only thing I get is bloating and uncomfort. The only thing that works is dulcolax or bisacotydl tablets but it's habit forming so I don't take it regularly but have to take it in 2-3 days interval to clean my intestine. I feel frustrated. Please I would appreciate some help and as a side note I have diabetes so I would like some sugar free recommendation. Tablets rather than syrup is highly appreciated or any other tips that will work. Thank you doc in advance. Have a good day.

lybrate-user your problem needs attention The constipation could be related with diabetes So Get Your blood sugars under control At least one opinion of surgeon is required to rule out an ano rectal pathology as a cause of constipation The surgeon may advise you a colonoscopy In the meantime you increase fiber in diet increase fluid intake regular exercise and dulcolax suppository to be inserted in the rectum occasionally.

I hv started taking apetamin its been one week a bottle ova. It says you gain weight I can't see any weight increasing. I'm all worried as it shouldn't cause any harm to me as it's also uses fa treatment of allergies n all. I bought it under the impression of gaining weight. I am super skinny and dying to gain weight. On site it says you gain noticeable weight in 3-4 days to a week. at least one pound weight should have shown up on me. I'm all worried please help. Also the bottle on all oth sites say lysine and cyproheptadine too but my bottle doesn't show lysine rotten on it. I'm all confused if iv got a duplicated bottle.

I am suffering from "sangahini" disease. There is mucus in stool and gradual weight loss. Generally I am constipated but when I take laxatives like Duphalac, kayam tablet and isabgol then I start having mucus in stool. Sometimes I have hard stool which causes bleeding and anal fissure. I have heard in "Sangrahni" disease milk should not be taken. Can you explain why? One more thing when I take Duphalac syrup for stool softening then I have mucus containing stool. Why this happens? Is it because of lactulose? Does lactulose harm intestines and produce more mucus? I think milk is forbidden in "Sangrahni" because of lactose in it which is difficult to digest by small intestine and might cause more mucus production, more gas and bloating. And I think since lactulose is similar to lactose that is why Duphalac syrup is causing mucus in my stool. Am I right? Other than Duphalac which stool softener should I use so that it doesn't produce mucus in stool? Should I try Lactihep syrup or Sorbitol syrup or Polyethylene glycol 3350 sachet? Please help me in this regard.
