Dear lybrate-user,
Some people on antidepressants medicine experience rebound of symptoms and withdrawal symptoms on sudden stopping of medicine.
For clinical examination of such symptoms I would suggest you to visit a psychiatrist in your vicinity.
Thanks.

Dear, prescribed drugs are not antipsychotics, so you need to correct your knowledge regarding drugs and alcohol both.
Also, dear kuma have some faith in your doctor regarding the treatment.
Amitriptyline is a good drug.
Or you can take a second opinion frm other psychiatrist.
Take care.

Dear , amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant. It affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced. Amitriptyline is used to treat symptoms of depression. I am sure the medicine was prescribed by a psychiatrist because your mother needed such a treatment. The medicine is not harmful for her. Work with your psychiatrist for proper care and cure. No self judgement. Take care.
