Hi, I am nitin budhiraja, I am patient of schizophrenia. My doctor had prescribed me medicine amisulpride 200 & quetiapine 100 on 28 jan 2019. After that I reduced the quetiapine slowly & finally withdraw quetiapine. I was still taking amisulpride 200. Again I consult with my doctor on 16 april 2019. I told about the withdrawal quetiapine. My mental condition is very good on 16 april 2019. My doctor reduced my medicine he prescribed me amisulpride 100 or 150 on 16 april 2019. On 16th april I took amisulpride 100 on 17th april I took amisulpride 150 on 18th april I took amisulpride 150 on 19th april I am feeling less interest in work so I think this is because of reducing amisulpride from 200 mg to 150 mg so today I take back my previous dose of amisulpride that is 200 actually I do not want that I have less interest in work or daily activity. I am also taking himalaya mentat two times a day last question my doctor prescribed me aride sr & I am taking amisulpride generic. Both are same?

Dear lybrate-user,
You can take generic amisulpride instead of aride sr. I don't know anything about mentat. Please take an appropriate dose of amisulpride that is comfortable for your work and earning capacity. Please report it to your doctor when you visit next. Find out other reasons for less interest in work and daily activities and correct them.

They can be taken together under expert guidance, They both give sedation. Consult your psychiatrist as the medications take few weeks to act and dose needs to be titrated based on the response.

Sulpitac and nexito are medicines for psychosis and anxiety.
You need to be more specific about your symptoms and history in order for me to help you.

You must always ask for the diagnosis and find out what you are being treated for. If the doctor is not willing to share it with you, at least s/he can share it with the person who was accompanying you. You are being treated for a serious condition and must be enjoined with therapy too. If you are cooperative, you can lead a normal life and can live with your wife too. Depending on your behavior, you may be restricted if you are violent, abusive, or too dysfunctional. If you visit a therapist, y...more

SSRIs, SNRIs and TCA group of medications and CBT and relaxation methods are the treatment for anxiety and sulpitac is antipsychotic, not anti anxiety medication. Hypnosis helps in suggestible persons to explore conflicts only.

This is treatment for a serious condition. If you are combining medication with counseling, there is a good chance that you will recover faster and better. The counseling gives you an avenue to work with your emotional issues and you will develop skills in coping with the everyday challenges that life throws at you. I hope your visits to the psychiatrist were regular and the medication has been frequently reviewed during these one and half years. You need to be occupied, and fit into a routine o...more

Consult a psychiatrist who will assess you in detail before prescribing any medication. Without a proper history it is not possible to recommend any lines of treatment. You may consult me for further management if required.

If you are asking whether the dosage can be reduced over time, I certainly think so. But the treatment is for a serious disorder and it is advised that any reduction of medication must be monitored by your doctor. I also suggest that you seek the help of a counselor and develop some coping skills and techniques to help you deal with life's situations in a healthy manner.

It is very good medicine. Dose is very less. You take few or minimum risk, keep busy in positive things, avoid addiction, keep engaged in pranayam etc. In that way you can protect urself from next recurrence of dis.
