The medicines you are taking like zolpidem and lorazepam are not indicated as the primary treatment of insomnia in the context of bipolar disorder. You need to restart the course from your treating psychiatrist and take the medicines as advised. The doctor, once he feels that your symptoms are well under control, will slowly taper the medicines as stop. Please don't self medicate, since insomnia in bipolar disorder can sometimes go either way, up (hypo/mania), or down (depression) and it will ne...more

From the limited information you shared, ot seems that you have been suffering from depression. It needs detailed evaluation and further treatment. Please bear in mind, depression is not a sign of mental weakness, rather a disease of the brain. So don't delay and seek treatment as soon as possible.

Dear lybrate-user, yes it will be because by now your brain is accustomed to this drug, by the way who prescibed this drug to you was it a psychiatrist or did you self medicate, another thing you have not mentioned the dose of zolpidem that you are taking so that if high it might be tapered down to suit your exam needs. Therefore you must consult a psychiatrist at the earliest. Yours sincerely.

Thoughts could be improved by changing the way you think, act ,react to a situation/problem. It also depends on your mood state of the day, your surroundings. These have direct connection with your medical condition and how you take it and accept it. With ailment its difficult to accept it as it is. There will be a mind question - why me/ will linger around. When you expect something or take the expectation of the near and dears as it is and not able to accomplish, there comes self esteem issues...more

Alprazolam on a longer run is dangerous and causes serious side effects. It is good to switch to escitalopram and clonazepam, but some develop heaviness as you said. You can discuss with your psychiatrist and change to better medications, which control anxiety well without heavy head. All the best.
