There is really no food item or fruit is actually banned for a diabetic person. But certain foods which have a high glycemic index, meaning they convert to sugar (glucose) rapidly in the gut, are to be avoided. Plus it is always good to consume complex carbs as those take long time to get digested to glucose, hence cause a slow increase in the blood glucose levels.
