Zolpidem is a sedative drug. But the effects of Zolpidem are not limited to it. It falls in the category of highly addictive drugs and hence is not recommended AT ALL to take on a daily basis WITHOUT PRESCRIPTION OR A DISEASE. Please let me know about your symptoms in detail.

The medicines you are taking like zolpidem and lorazepam are not indicated as the primary treatment of insomnia in the context of bipolar disorder. You need to restart the course from your treating psychiatrist and take the medicines as advised.
