You shouldn’t take medications without adequate assessment and advise of psychiatrist. If you continue to feel depressed despite the antidepressant then dosage may be increased or the medication can be reviewed and changed. Alprazolam is a short acting benzodiazepine and has been used to treat anxiety though preferably not long term. So I advise review and assessment by the psychiatrist of symptoms and medications.

This medicine is habit forming and has adverse side effects. Avoid sleep during daytime. Have early and light dinner so that the food is digested before you go to bed.
