I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you.
Excess saliva can be a side effect of medications, such as tranquilizers, epilepsy drugs and anticholinesterases, often used in treatment of early dementia, such as donepezil (aricept). Some diseases also cause excess saliva, especially parkinson's disease and some strokes.
Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.

Der Dileep,
Sorry to hear your father, Maths teacher, has dementia.
The behavioral problems are not tolerated by the family members. If you start attending the family members' group, you will understand why your father gets angry and leaves home. If the family understands his present level of memory and accepts it as such, behaviour of your father will change. If you people point out accusingly or treat him as though he does it purposely, it will worsen.

Dear lybrate-user,
for curing alzheimer's so far nothing has come clinically. Of course we would like to research all the possible ones. Research findings to become clinically relevant needs more time and more replication of findings in different population.
For preventing probably all healthy food habit may be helpful. May not be alzheimer's alone, generally any dementia, especially vascular ones.
