Hello, you need to take a proper balanced diet in high uric acid. Pls avoid all the food that contains purines. Avoid high protein food, avoid chicken but you can take eggs. I am 34 years old and in last 4 months, I had 4 gout attack (Dec 24, Feb 8, Mar 1) on my right leg toe. Since last one month (Mar 5) I am taking Allopurinol 100mg as prescribed by my doctor for 3 months (daily 1 tablet). After starting this tablet around Mar 14th again I got Gout attack. Its already 20 days over, but that bulges on the toe has not gone completely it has reduced a bit not going completely. And because of this I am not able to walk fast or jog, can’t even wear shoe because it pains. Did 2 blood test once in Dec and then in Mar in both Uric Acid level is normal. Since Jan I have controlled by food habits as well no red meat, no shell fishes no alcohol, no soda based drinks, regularly drinking 3 litres of water. Need your suggestion how to reduce the swelling caused by this gout attack and to avoid in future so I can run and wear show freely. Thanks in advance.

Dear Doctor I used to take Atorva 10 for my cholesterol for last one year then I stopped taking it for 8, 9 months. Recently I was feeling pain in my right hand finger joints also the lower portion of the elbow. I have visited the doctor & as per his advice I have done Uric acid, lipid profile & vitamin D test & out come of the report is. Total cholesterol is 297 mg/DL. Triglycerides 162, HDL 50, LDL 196, VLDL 51. CHOL HDL ratio 5.94. Uric acid 6.9 mg/DL. 25 Hydroxy vitamin D total 6.9 mg/DL. Doctor advised me following medicine Ecosprin AV 75 one at night, Allopurinol 100 mg twice daily, shelcal-M 500 mg & envion 500 one daily. I am also taking loser 25 for high blood pressure. My age is 47. I would like to get advice from any SR. DOCTOR that what ever I am taking is it sufficient or need to take some thing more or any change in medicine is required or any any more test is required. Moreover whether these medicine I have to take life long, if yes any side effect. Pls advice.
