I have been taking sizopin25 (clozapine) and distress-ec (escitalopram & clonazepam) for the last 20 years. Also I took revocon 25 (tetrabenzine) for 2 months. I am 52 years old my problem is-my jaw locks while sleeping.

Ok thank you doctor abhaya kant sir, I will reduce the pacitane tablet by 1 mg, & do we have to continue anti psychotics drugs (clozapine 25 mg, olapin 20 mg, ativan 1 mg, vertin 8 mg) or we have to stop doctor, as he is feeling tired & also his tremors also increased.

Decrese the anti psychotic drugs gradually, stop vertin and ativan straight away. Make olapin 10 mg and gradually in 3-4 days taper away. Follow up after that.

My mother is being treated for mental illness in chennai. She has been on treatment for ocd for the past 5 years. Past few months she had suffering from manic depressive psychosis. Last week we have consulted another doctor as she wasn't recovering well. Present doctor has not yet diagnosed her illness. She is currently on following medications: loxapax 25 mg (night) loxapax10 mg (morning) oleanz 5 mg (night) tho 2 mg (morning) vincomo (morning) clozapine 50 mg (night) she has been given clozapine yesterday during our consultation. She has been so restless through out the day and behaved differently last night. She had suicidal thoughts before clozapine was prescribed to her. Even though she had suicidal thoughts before ,she was active and was doing her works properly. But now my mother says she will die by not eating food, she says she has become mad and her life has been destroyed. Her thoughts have become so random. She didn't behave this way before and after our last consultation 2 days back, she has started to behave this way. She says she would not go to work and give voluntary retirement. We are not sure why she has started to behave this way from yesterday. Why did the doctor prescribe clozapine? Is it having any bad effect on her behaviour? Is she having schizophrenia? Kindly advice why is it happening this way to my mother.

It is nice of you to know about your mother's behaviour and diagnosis. Whenever you change the doctor, it is better to take the summary of treatment from the previous doctor. The recent doctor has not yet diagnosed her. It takes time and observation to diagnose mental disorders. OCD symptoms may occur in both bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. I being a neurologist its difficult to comment on the problem you are facing. But my sincere advise will to get hold of a decent psychiatrist or a institute/medical college with a psychiatrist for proper treatment. You should not neglect it and these can be treated. At the moment you seem to be getting a cocktail of medicines and this needs to be relooked at for better treatment.

Hi, my brother has been diagnosed with schizophrenia. The psychiatrists has been adjusting his medication dosages since the beginning. We are currently using clozapine 75 mg and haloperidol 5 mg along with that now doctor has asked us to use bexol 2 mg as well. Also along the years he has gained weight, lost interest in his academics, has been prescribed to cholesterol and bp tablets. With all these medications he still is dizzy, aggressive,doubting everybody, irritated most of the time. Will his condition improve ever? Its been more than 2-3 years now with this medication.

I am diagnosed with having schizophrenia since 20 years. I am on amisulpride and clozapine to counter it with good relief. Having hallucinations, delusions, social and emotional withdrawal and thought disturbances are some of the symptoms of this illness. I am having only thought disturbances in plenty. Am I really have schizophrenia? Please confirm. I am also having depression and anxiety for which I am on venlafaxine with good relief. My question is: is the above mentioned symptom a depression and anxiety or schizophrenia? This is because the symptoms like having day long dullness and thought disturbances are there in abundance. If you have hallucinations, delusions, social and emotional withdrawal and thought disturbances, you should have schizophrenia. Anxiety and depression are part of schizophrenia. Your psychiatrists' diagnosis is final and let his treat you and please work with your psychiatrist for a cure.

Presently I am taking biotin forte (risperidone) half in morning and half at night, clozapine 25 at night, quetiapine 100 at night (just started few days back, ),depranex 10 in morning, and zapiz 0.5 in morning and afternoon. My question is .after starting quetiapine whether it is necessary to take depranex and/or zapiz. If yes what dose should be taken.

A relative of mine diagnosed with psychotic depression with auditory illusions, have been plenty of medications for t he last 3 years. Many previous gen medicines were tried along with ECT of 10 to 15 sessions in 3 time intervals. The person has gained a lot of weight and currently on 375 mg of clozapine 40 mg of zypsidon and Aripropole 10 mg on a daily basis. The problem looked OK for a while but it has returned back now. Request advise.
