Dear,
all your daughter's behaviour are due to schizophrenia. Some persons like your daughter becomes treatment resistant. So clozapine is prescribed. The psychiatrist will increase clozapine slowly to the required dose. Cbt can be add on but not the sole treatment. It needs a series of regular homeworks. Your daughter may not be capable of doing them at the present situation. Ect will be added if she becomes suicidal, not now when she is attending college. Meditation will not be of any hel...more

Dear user
anxiety and depression can best be treated successfully if along with medicines, you also take counseling. Medicines alone will not be fully effective. Our distorted thoughts are the root cause of stress, anxiety, depression. Counseling take care of our distorted thoughts and helps you to focus on the positives in your life. So, you should seek counseling for better results.

Dear Mr. Dhawan, Any particular molecule cant be claimed as superior as response varies from person to person. One agent that is good for a particular person may not work that well for other. However, clozapine is one molecule that is considered superior to all others in resistant cases and is generally given when other medicines fail. Partial agonists such as aripiprazole have a less side effects but sometimes efficacy is found wanting. Your patient will need evaluation and appropriate suggesti...more

The most common medication used to treat schizophrenia is an antipsychotic medication. There is no clear antipsychotic drug of choice for schizophrenia. Clozapine is the most effective medication but is not recommended as first-line therapy because it has a high burden of adverse effects, requires regular blood work, and has not outperformed othe...more

Although I am not entirely sure about the benefits of the molecules that you mention, since it is an amino acid there should be no side effects of glycine. If the patient is having auditory hallucination despite being on medication alkepin 200 mg daily, it might be helpful to make dose adjustments or to add augmentative or adjuvant therapeutic measures that target the core symptoms in addition to trying out glycine.
Look forward to hearing from you. If you need help with booking an appointme...more

Dear Shahdab,
Nice to know that your brother recovered 80%.

Apart from the tablets, he has to slowly start building skills of socialisation, interpersonal communication, work habits, personal grooming, etc. If he is already working, try and talk to his supervisor about his disorder so that they get counselled about h...more
