You could use piriton cs if it's only dry cough that is with out any sputum. You can give 5 ml syrup 2 times a day. If there is sputum then you can give chericof ls. Alex syrup contains antibiotics so you have to give it only under doctors advise. Dry cough can also be due to gastric problems, also due to allergic symptoms. Take a proper anti allergic, a single dose of steroid can have a good relief. Taking antacids will also help. For detailed consultation and medication. Do consult.
