Anthelminthic medications (drugs that rid the body of parasitic worms), such as albendazole and mebendazole, are the drugs of choice for treatment of ascaris infections, regardless of the species of worm. Infections are generally treated for 1-3 days. The drugs are effective and appear to have few side effects.

Mr. Lybrate-user, no body can not flush pin worms without albendazole or pyrntel pamoate or for that matter any other anthelmentic. Drugs are needed to kill adult female worms which lay a lot of eggs (11000 to 16000) around anal opening and also for eliminating eggs. Albendazole kills adult worms and breaks the life cycle. So the answer to your question is without drugs pinworms can not be eradicated.

Literature says Albendazole is a pregnancy class D drug in Australia and pregnancy class C in the United States. It is contraindicated in the first trimester of pregnancy, and should be avoided up to one month before conception. While studies in pregnant rats and rabbits have shown albendazole to be teratogenic, albendazole has been found to be safe in humans during the second and third trimesters

It is wormicide. If your child has worm infestation, it will work. Don't give it to 1 month child because it is unlikely that 1 month child has worm infestation! so it is not recommended below 6 months of age.
