Mr. lybrate-user, There is brand by name "Mixtard 30/70 InnoLet 3 ml injection. Usually concerned company persons do visit and explain how to use the Insulin Pens. So while buying it from the local chemist ask him to send the particular company representative to demonstrate the usage. The cartridges are 3 ml while vial is bigger. So please get all the details before switching over. Pens are definitely much easier to use. Thanks.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query.
You can take insulin mentioned with a 40 units syringe, but you will have to change the quantity proportionately. 100 iu /ml has more insulin in one ml compared to 40 iu / ml vial. So the quantity has to be increased by 2.5 times. To get amount of insulin. To avoid this confusion, it is better to stick to 100 iu/ml Insulin. Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user
there is no contact between the drawing syringe apparatus and disposable needle. The other end of the needle has a rubber sheath that prevents any blood leaking into the holder. When the technician presses the vacutainer against the rubber sheath, the needle enters the vacutainer and vacuum inside the container sucks the blood inside the vial.
Pl don't loose your sleep over silly things.
