My eyes sometimes become red mostly after taking a shower but not a big problem with that. Can I practice headstand once in a week, or please tell me my eyes would be affected by this. Thank you.

MS - Ophthalmology
Ophthalmologist, Mangalore
Eyes do become red after shower temporarily. If redness does not last longer then do not worry. Headstand or shirshaasana can sometimes increase the pressure within the eye. If your not a glaucoma patient then. It is quiet safe.

What you have is called myopia. It cannot be cured with eyedrops. There are certain methods to get rid of your glasses like lasik.

I have eyes problem and I don't see far things clearly. Please suggest me some ideas related to my diets.

MS - Ophthalmology
Ophthalmologist, Mangalore
Hello lybrate-user, > inability to see far things might be due to myopia (most commonly), which could be corrected by wearing spectacle/ contact lens. > it could also be something more serious. Please have a consultation with an ophthalmologist. Food items which are orange coloured (like papaya, carrot, mangoes), green leafy vegetablesetc have high amount of vitamin a, which is good for our eyes.

I have red eyes from the last four weeks what I do for relaxation from this problem.

MS - Ophthalmology
Ophthalmologist, Mangalore
Red eyes could be due to many reasons. It could be infective or allergic conjunctivitis, or could even be due to dry eyes. It could also be due to certain more serious problems. Pls do consult your eye doctor. Simple measures for dry eye is to: > relax in between work atleast once every 20min. > consciously make an effort to blink at least 12 times a min > use your computer screen at a lower level than your eyes. > finally, consult an ophthalmologist if these measures do not help.

One should not use eyedrops without consultaion, as many eyedrops could cause side effects when used for the wrong condition.
