I am 81 plus. I am quite healthy for my age maintaining wellness with regular daily 6 km walk, yoga and pure vegetarian diet. I experience back pain around my hip and neck when I get up after resting for some time especially after night sleep. There is nothing unbearable. Can I get relief or ignore it? thanks

back and neck pain are common problems for adults .The best way to deal with back . neck and other joint or muscle problem is to prevent them from happening is of 70 % of back problems are caused by activities of daily living . These can often be avoided by paying attention to your posture . lifting heavy items properly . exercising regularly and strengthening your core and sleeping on your side or back . and on a good mattress

HI Usually due plaster there is immoblization of joint and joint becomes stiff. Pain will subside as you gain full ROM . Consult physiotherapist for joint mobilization and exercise.

As you mentioned you r wt. 95 it is too high at this age. You r legs are taking too much efforts. Reduce the weight. Avoid long. Standing. At one place. Sit in between. Avoid prolonged continuous walking. Take rest in between. Refresh you r self and then start. Take more of calcium. Magnesium. And. Protein suffficient food. Such as milk. Eggs. Spinach. Carrots. Green vegetables. All cereals. Ths.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

You required both local and systemic treatment 1- dashanga lepa 10 gm, prepare a paste and apply on the painful knee at night, in morning clean it. 2- in morning do gentle massage with warm mahanarayan oil of painful knee 3- yograj guggul 500 mg one tablet twice in a day with no 4 medicine 4- maharasnadi kwath 15 ml twice in a day after food continue for 6 weeks and give feed back after one month.

Do hot fomentation twice a day. Go to you nearest physiotherapist and take treatment i. E. Ift, us, swd for next few days. Followed by back strengthening exercises. Dont bend forward, sit straight with a proper support.

It might be due to duodenitis and I will suggest you to get an upper GI Scopy done to rule out any pathology

Dear lybrateuser, -for acidity problem avoid spicy, fried & junk foods, have 4-5 small meals rather than having three large ones, have snack in between the main meals to reduce acid secretion, have dinner 2-3 hrs before bedtime, do not lye down immediately after meals -have 8-10 glasses of water per day to wash away the toxins & for proper digestion -have tablet pan 40, 1 tab half an hour before breakfast once a day -for hairfall apply a ketoconazole containing shampoo every alternate day -have a well balanced diet with more of fruits & vegetables for the essential vitamins & minerals -do regular exercise for good blood circulation -reduce stress in daily life, sleep well for 7-8 hrs at night.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Your knee pain could be due to certain reasons but common ones are chondromalacia, pain due to knee instability, inflammation etc. If there is no history of any injury, and no s/s of inflammation or infection like swelling, skin redness or local warmth on touching, then I will like to advise you for conservative management initially in form of: - intensive physical therapy with focus on strengthening of quadriceps and stretching of other group of muscles - gentle anti inflammatory medications like tab etoshine or tab paracetamol can be taken in small doses for 5-7 days - adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation as per requirement - ice packs at home for 3-4 times in a day and see how it goes for around 2 weeks time. If your condition does not improve, then we will have to get certain investigations done. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

Back stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

Take sanjeevani ras vati twice a day with warm water. Take pranacharya jwar nigraha capsule and punarnavadi mandoor 1-1 twice a day with warm water. Avoid salt as more as possible. Drink luke warm water. Wipe your body with clean towel.

Hi I am a 33 year old male and have been going through chest pain for the past 2 years. I have undergone all the required tests and consultation with lot of specialists. Let me brief you first with the tests I have undergone. In December 2013 I had done a complete heart check up (ECG, stress test and 2D echo) and all the reports were normal. But since the chest pain was still there in the month of Feb 2014 I also did an MRI scan for cervical and a CT angiography. The report for both these test were also normal and the calcium scores being zero. Then in the month of March 2014 I also underwent an endoscopy where in I was diagnosed with GERD (Gastro Esophagus Reflux Disease. Since then I have been taking medications for acid reflux and having changed my lifestyle in terms of my diet and sleep pattern. I was doing night for the last 10 years and recently also resigned from my job due to this. But there has been no change in the pattern of my pain. Infact it has increased over the period of time. I usually get the pain in the middle of my chest and just above the left breast. It is mild to moderate. I am also a non smoker and non drinker. Kindly advise as to why this is exactly happening since its effecting me mentally as well and impacting my career. I now a days at times also feel shortness of breath and pulse going high. Would highly appreciate your inputs on this.

Since all the relevant investigations are normal,your problem could be due to anxiety and stress. You may need some anxiolytic and anti depressant medicine. Please consult psychiatrist for advice and treatment. Go for regular exercise, practice yoga, meditation and deep breathing exercise.

Hello, first of all you should take rest for 1-2 days so that your body can fight with underlying infection wth its full immunity and start the below medication:- take gelesemium 200, twice daily. Take eupatrium perf 200, 5 drops thrice daily. Take antifebrinum 3x, 2 tabs, thrice daily. Take alfavena malt, 1 tsf, thrice daily. Drink lots of water and take light homemade food like dalia and khichdi, avoid oily, spicy, fried, junk and cold drinks. In case of high uncontrollable fever, don't panic you should do cold sponging to lower down the temperature. If fever does not goes then go for a set of blood tests. Revert me with feedback. Take care of your health. Good day.

Don't skip your meals. Take milk and products, paneer, egg, omelette with bread. Do strach exercise alternate days. Take milk shake nd stuff parathas. Take butter milk. Take whole pulses.
