My son is 5 years old and is taking Homeopathic medicine for cold and cough. He was quiet relieved with the treatment. But since two days he's taking homeopathic medicine for fever but I see no sign of improvement. So can I give him allopathic medicine simultaneously.

MD Pediatrics
Pediatrician, Vadodara
Avoid mixing two modes of medicine. Meet your doctor for further management for fever and cough and cold. Might require medications.

Hello, under central apaenea ,central nervous system fails to communicate signal to muscles to start breathing, treceostomy is a temporary rescue management as a matter of fact, your child 's brain needs medication to restore natural breathing. Homoeopathy can help to checking breathing disorder as well as boosting of brain. Tk, care.

Salivary gland called Parotid gang is mostly in front and below the ears. It's swelling is known as mumps. Giving Paracetamol should help. Cold compress and giving plenty of liquids to drink also will help. Pain behind the ear may also be due a ear infection or lymph node enlargement due to other infection in the vicinity.

To detect worms get his stool tested. Intestinal worms, round worms, tapeworms and toxacara worms can all cause a loss of appetite, nausea, tiredness, a painful or even distended tummy, fever, coughing, urticaria, and in the case the threadworm, an uncomfortable itch at night around the anus and/or the vulva. Alnendazole can be repeated six monthly, dose 2ml at bed time for kids above 2yrs after fat free meal.

HiMy baby is diagnosed before birth for having Long QT, but after birth her pulse rate was recorded fine every time. She is born of 20 October 2015, not even a month old now, so had only three checkups as of now. Doctors are asking to get EKG/ECG done for make sure if She has Long QT or not. What do you suggest?

Long qt syndrome is a congenital disorder characterized by a prolongation of the qt interval on electrocardiograms and a propensity to ventricular tachyarrhythmias, which may lead to syncope, cardiac arrest, or sudden death. For this it is best to see a good pediatric cardiologist. Don't worry. Ecg is a harmless procedure and it is essential for diagnosis.

Hi,Your child he doesn't always meet this ideal. Many toddlers resist eating certain foods or insist on eating only one or two favourite foods. The more you struggle with your child over his or her eating preferences, the more determined he or she will be to defy you. Offering a variety of foods and leaving the choices up to your child will eventually allow him or her to eat a balanced diet on his or her own. Toddlers also like to feed themselves, so whenever possible, offer your child finger foods instead of cooked ones that require a fork or spoon to eat.
