You take Paneer and milk you will be getting ample Calcium please note Pander should be raw not cooked or fried and as regards Hb take Chukander half boiled with salt and pepper in the form of salad. This will increase your BP because of salt and pepper and Hb as well since chikandar is a rich source of iron and since it is half boiled so will cause less or no gastric irritation.

HIV test. The window period is time between potential exposure to HIV infection and the point when the test will give anaccurate result. During the window period a person can be infected with HIV and be very infectious but still test HIV negative. The window period for a 4th generation antigen/antibody test is four weeks.

4 Ways You Can Try & Prevent Cervical Cancer

DNB (Obstetrics and Gynecology), FICOG, MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist, Jaipur
4 Ways You Can Try & Prevent Cervical Cancer

Cervical cancer is a kind of cancer that develops in the cervix of a woman. Cervix is an area between the uterus and vagina. It is preventable if diagnosed in early stages. Going for regular pap tests and taking a HPV vaccine can significantly lower the risk of cervical cancer. These symptoms include abnormal bleeding between menstrual periods, low back and lower abdominal pain, postcoital bleeding and strange smelling discharge. If not diagnosed in time, it can be life threatening and requires intense treatment. Following are the ways you can prevent cervical cancer.

  1. Prevention of cervical cancer: There is usually no certain way of preventing cervical cancer, but by following a number of practices there is a possibility that you can prevent it. There are 3 major ways of prevention of cervical cancer, which include the following:
  2. Safe sex: Major cases of cervical cancer are caused due to an infection by a virus known as human papillomavirus or HPV. This virus is usually transmitted by sexual means and having unprotected sex might leave you at the risk of getting infected by this virus during the sexual intercourse.  You should practice safe sex using protection such as condoms. This reduces your chances of being infected by the virus. This virus is transmitted via all types of sexual contact, which includes skin contact between the genitals. People who have unprotected sex with multiple sexual partners are at an increased risk of getting cervical cancer due to the HPV virus.
  3. Cervical screening and vaccination: Having a cervical screening or pap smear test on a regular basis is an efficient way to detect abnormal changes in the cervix cells, at a very early stage. Even if you are being vaccinated for the HPV virus, cervical screening is essential as the vaccines against HPV virus are not always successful in providing protection from cervical cancer. If you had been previously treated for abnormal changes in the cervix cells, you should undertake more frequent screening tests. The regularity of undergoing cervical screening depends on the severity of the cell change. You should report any symptom you experience in spite of having regular cervical screening. Several vaccines are used for protection from HPV infections.
  4. Avoid smoking: You can prevent the chances of having cervical cancer by giving up smoking. In case of  smokers, it is more difficult to eliminate the HPV infection from the body, and the chances of cervical cancer get enhanced. You can undertake various measures in order to quit smoking and prescribed medicines can be used to treat withdrawal symptoms.

Cervical cancer causes great strain on the body and it may spread all over the pelvic region. In some cases, distant tissues are also affected by cervical cancer. You should consult a doctor immediately after experiencing any symptom of cervical cancer. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

Hello There, This issues is with my mother, she had one ear operation 23 year back by Dr. Raghav Saran due to water coming out and pain in Ear. All went well but after 10 years she start getting water and smells again, sometime its neck pain. We consulted 3-4 doctors and then went to Christian Medical College & Hospital Vellore and after test doctor said that she need to go for surgery once again because previous surgery got some issue thats why she is getting pain and water. We met on good doctor in Ranchi ENT specialist and he prescribed lot of antibiotic and tablet to make the wet ear dry for 3 months, it happens and then start again. We got appointment in AIIMS and they said no need for surgery go home, then to reconfirm we went to Dr. also said the same that no need for surgery go home. If want then do on your own choice. (May be they saw dry Ear that time due to Antibiotic tablet dosage) Now she is getting same situation that water comes out with smell and ear get wet, sometime its neck pain and sometime Ear pain. Can anyone please suggest from Doctors/ENT community, what could be possibility and what steps I should take. Also In delhi/NCR where I should Visit and if have to go for surgery then please suggest the best option with budget expected and complication possibility? Looking forward for your suggestion. Hello Mr. lybrate-user i'm very disappointed after reading the story! Anyway, it seems to be a case of chronic mastoiditis as she is suffering from neckache associated with otorrhoea (discharge from ear). I advice you to try homeopathy for few weeks before going to surgery again. Several such cases are cured by homeopathic medicaments. If you feel interest then you can chat privately. I will be available to help you. Regards!

My grandma 75 year old female. She has dry cough in last 7 mnth. What should she do?

Firstly there's no lifelong cure for the common cold. Antibiotics are only effective against infections of throat and are of no use against cold viruses. Over-the-counter (otc) cold preparations won't cure a common cold or make it go away any sooner, and most have side effects. A saltwater gargle 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2tsp turmeric dissolved in a glass of warm water can temporarily relieve a sore or scratchy throat. To help relieve nasal congestion, try saline (pure salt water) nasal drops. If you have a throat infection, or a viral cold then do reply back for medications. Being also a general physician, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary tips taking into account patient preferences.

Dear lybrateuser, - Preferably you should have a fruit one to two hours before or after a meal as the nutrients in it are better absorbed on an empty stomach, mixed with food some may not be absorbed properly.
