Hi, I am an indian male of 39 years. After sitting for a while, when I get up, I feel stiff around my ankle. There is slight pain as well which goes away when I walk for a while. This also happens when I wake up and get down in the morning. What could be the possible reasons? -#indiafornepal.

3 days back I fell down from steps, leg got twisted due to that one nerve in the leg became swell, I went to doctor given pain killer injection and tab for 4 days but pain in there & left leg is solen due to nerver got solen. Please guide. Daily taking pain killer & band age putting in morning time & massage doing from iodex & one oil massage.

I am 29 years and my head is swinging and I have pain at the back of my neck. Dizziness. I actually travelled on hills. After 2 days of completing the trip m facing this problem. Will it go on its own or should I take any medications. Feeling very weak and tired.

Do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min. Afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. Start natural calcium supplement. Hi I can understand your problem. 1) apply hot and cold foementation. 2) learn strengthening exercise of quadriceps and hamstring from physiotherapist. 3) do regular streching calf muscles. 4) wear comfortable foot wear. Do share investigation reports if you have.

My wife is suffering from severe knee pain and has a swelling. Now it is under control. Whenever she steps into hard surface she gets pain on her knee, but she is fine with the soft surface. She has been diagnosed as osteoarthritis. Suggest best treatment without joint replacement. Thanks.

Go for fasting once a week. You can go for absolute fasting or rely on a liquid diet to digest ama (toxin). Fasting should be followed by hot fomentation or by taking a bath with lukewarm water or steam bath. After fasting and fomentation, mix powdered long pepper, black pepper and dried ginger in equal quantities and take 1 teaspoon of this powdered mix with lukewarm water twice a day. This will help you restore your digestive fire. Take one tablespoon of castor oil before going to bed, once or twice a week. It helps in cleansing ama (toxin) build up and balancing vata. Mix equal quantities of powdered fenugreek seeds, turmeric and ginger powder. Take one teaspoon daily in the morning and evening. For dry fomentation of the affected joints, take a cloth and fold it into four, fill it with hot and sand make a potli (bag) out of it. Use this bundle for the fomentation of different joints. This is very helpful in reducing pain and swelling. Practice yoga daily..

Dear you can follow these methods for relief from Backache(back pain): * First correct your sitting posture. Do not bend your lower back.You can use lumber belt for support. * Do regular back strength exercises.Move your clockwise and anticlock wise. * Do not sleep on very soft bed ,sleep on slight hard cotton mattress. * Do Tadasana and Bhjangasana for back strengthening.If you can not understand these asans you can consult me. * Take calcium rich diet and calcium and vitamin D supplements regularly. *Do not Take any heavy weight or heavy work. * If you are over weight then follow a good and effective diet plan to loose some kilos of weight. Hi there are multiple causes for shoulder pain like. Muscular, tendonitis, ligament tear etc. It will be good if you visit physiotherapist or orthopaedic doctor for diagnosis. Get X-ray or MRI done to rule out any structural joint abnormalities. Meanwhile, gentle massage over knees with lukewarm herbal pain relieving oils daily for about 15-20 minutes and hot fomentation afterwards will greatly help in subsiding the pain. Ayurveda’s Panchakarma offers specialized treatment of JANU BASTI for knee pains - these procedures would give strength to your knee and reduce the pain and stiffness. Regular oiling the joint will improve the lubrication also. Use knee caps over the joints and avoid over exertion of the joint. Avoid sitting crossed legs.

I am a 25 year old male, met with an accident this morning. I was riding a bike which fell down on right side, shoulder and elbow are paining severely just able to move a bit, however there is a small external injury. My shoulder is not moving firmly with elbow. I have seen a doctor near by as advised by him I have to keep my arm in arm sling for a week. Can you please advise any other alternative to this as the pain is unbearable (got confirmed that this is not a fracture) Your urgent advice would be appreciated.

No movements would help now, the more you move your shoulder the more it will pain. Rest is the only advice for shoulder joint. Movements at elbow and wrist and fingers can be continued. Ice application at swelling site is preferable. Movements at shoulder can be resumed once pain has come down. Take care.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contacts your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it doe s not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.

Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretchingstretch do the cat/cow avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Apply hot fomentation.

My left knee is paining.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Your knee pain could be due to certain reasons but common ones are chondromalacia, pain due to knee instability, inflammation etc. If there is no history of any injury, and no s/s of inflammation or infection like swelling, skin redness or local warmth on touching, then I will like to advise you for conservative management initially in form of: - intensive physical therapy with focus on strengthening of quadriceps and stretching of other group of muscles - gentle anti inflammatory medications like tab etoshine or tab paracetamol can be taken in small doses for 5-7 days - adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation as per requirement - ice packs at home for 3-4 times in a day and see how it goes for around 2 weeks time. If your condition does not improve, then we will have to get certain investigations done. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

I am a 17 year old girl and I am a low b. P patient (my b. P levels are 100/70). Now a days, I am getting severe pain from my left shoulder to left foot. I feel like someone is pulling my leg down. Is it a major issue related heart?

Your bp is with in normal range. It could be fibromyalgia rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days caldikind plus (mankind) 1 tab odx10days you will need other supportive medicines also. Do neck & back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Use of cervical collar will give you relief. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do ask for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Problem and pain both things are different ok if only problem then stretch your back muscle and avoid forward bending and heavyweight. Spine extension exercise. If pain take physiotherapy for few days and start exercise.

Some times I do get pain in my shoulder. Daily I will play shuttle. So what would be d reason for it?

Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult after 5 days avoid junk food, oil, maida, sugar has to be cut down very much. Realise that foregoing these items are better than the pain.

Hi initially take following precautions 1) stop normal physical activity for couple of days. 2) apply hot fomentation 3) do not do activities that involves heavy lifting or twisting of your back for few days 4) after 2 to 3 weeks, slowly begin to exercise 5) avoid wearing high heels and lifting heavy bags.
