Hye, thank you for your query. Gym supporter or athletic supporter or jockstrap consists of an elastic waistband with a support pouch for the male genitals and two elastic straps attached to the base of the pouch and to the left and right sides of the waistband at the hip. The biggest benefit of jockstrap is the ability to add a protective cup in the pouch. The purpose of jockstrap is to hold the male genitals in place and suppress excessive motion. A supportive pair of briefs can also serve the same amount of anti-bouncing purpose. A hard blow without a resistive cup can end up in building of excess fluid in scrotum. In gym when you do exercises like overhead triceps extension, one hand triceps extensions, dumbbell press for shoulders, squats for thighs etc, excessive weight around the mid-section can put undue pressure and downward pull on muscles and organs, resulting in congenitally weak spots bearing a tremendous burden, and ultimately leads to hernia. A hernia occurs when an organ or fatty tissue squeezes through a weak spot in a surrounding muscle or connective tissue. In other words hernias result from a weakness in the abdominal wall that develops over time from excessive pressure placed on the particular region.

I’ve been exercising for some time now. Why am I not seeing any more real improvements? I’m 81 years old. Should I be exercising, and will it make a difference at my age?

Hello you can start with strolls or light walk amidst clean green environment. It can be done with short breaks as per your comfort rather than walking for 30 mins at a stretch. Also start with some warm up exercises like arm & leg rotation, neck exercises, shoulder joint exercises for smooth operation of joints. Take care of your balance in order to provide injury due to falls. Build up on your exercise stamina gradually & make sure to have a balanced diet.

My wife is suffering for Diabetes Last 5 years. Her PP is 155 (after medicine taken), Fasting is 140 and HBA1c is 8.9. Now she taken the medicine as Trajenta 5 (1 in a day), Glizid Mr. 60 (1 in a day), Cetapin XR 1000 (2 in a day) as doctor advice. So please advice what kind of precaution taken with out medicine?

As hba1c is on higher side, it's important to be particular about food choices & timings. Properly follow the do's and don't of a diabetic diet. Avoid sweets & sweetened beverages from diet. Avoid high starchy foods and sweetened fruits & vegetables from diet such as rice, bananas, chickoo, grapes, mango, litchi, potatoes. Include more fiber such as dalia, & whole pulses in diet as they have low glycemic index and helps to control blood glucose levels.

Dear Lybrate User, To maintain proper blood glucose level you need following things to do- 1.Include more fibers in your diet. More soluble than insoluble. 2. Dont give food gap more than 2-3hrs between meals. 3.Drink min 2ltrs of water during day time. Reduce water consumption after 6pm onwards. 4. Increase your protein intake specially veg proteins. 5.Do exercises regularly min for 1hrs min. 6.Increase your vegetables and fruits consumption. 7. Avoid simple sugar, maida related junk foods.

Hi for reduced weight you should work out as per you consume calories and it will take time just continue work out. Take following remedies for loosing weight 1.arogya vardhini vati 2 tab before lunch and dinner 2. Abhayarishta 4 tsp before lunch nad dinner 3. Morning break fast=mung dal green soup 1 boul and if feel hunger have pomegranate or apple 4.lunch 2 chaati + fruit vegetable + if you like rice 1 bowl and dal + barley soup 5. Evening 4-5 pm have some milk with sunth or any fruit you like 6. Dinner barley soup 2 bowl and one fruit follow this diet you will get reduced weight.

Hi lybrate user. At first you have to follow some basic things so that you get better results in a short period of time. 1) take food two times in a day only 2) drink only 100-150 ml of lukewarm water during meals 3) try to take liquid diet only for few days 4) avoid late night sleeping habits 5) avoid oily, spicy, salty, junk, fast and fermented foods. 5) walk upto 4-5 kilometres daily. 6) do yogasan (pacchimottasan, sarvangasan, pavanmuktasan, halasan, bhujangasan) and pranayam regularly. Aprameyaji, If diabetes is confirmed with fasting sugar >126 mg and PP >200 mg /100 ml, then it can only be brought under control by using modern meedicine. No natural medicine can help. In India there are close to 7 crore diabetes patients and increasing day by day. If natural medicine were to be effective then every one should have been relieved of that disease. So aap unako samzaie ki modern davai lena hi sabase accha upay hai is bbimari ko control me rakhane keliye. It is strange that people don' t find time for taking food! you work only for your food, clothing and shelter. As a young person if u cannot take care of your health you will suffer through out your life eat food and not medicine.

Hello! check your vit. D n calcium level. According to your height you are over weight. So, that can be also a reason of your leg pain. To be fit take small n frequent healthy meal (5-6 meal a day). Stay away from preserved food, ready to eat foods, deep fried food, sugar n sweet items n do exercise for at least 30 min a day.
