At this age with diabetes and hypercholesterolemia, you should opt for professional guidance with customized diet program to shed weight. We cannot draft and send a diet plan here as it needs lot of information, needs calculations and is a time taking process. You can consult me directly through Lybrate Private Consult if interested. However, you can start with avoiding simple sugars completely icluding sugar, brwon sugar, jaggery and honey ,Eating Out' less, avoiding junk and have good quantity of fresh foods which are not processed like fruits, vegetables, soups, salads, nuts, low fat milk, curd etc. Combine these dietary changes with 30 -40 mins walk.

Hi,Thank you for your query. We will be happy to help you. Avoid all outside food that includes junk, processed food as well as food items that are oily, sugary, or salty. Instead eat home cooked meals with 4 to 5 servings of fruits and veggies. Have your dinner early and keep it light. Eat a protein rich breakfast every morning. Drink plenty of water throughout the day; especially before meals. Exercise at least 5 days a week, 30 minutes each time. We are here to guide you. For a detailed and customized diet plan, feel free to leave a message. Eat healthy, stay healthy Regards.

Buttermilk is good for diabetic patients as long as there is no extra added sugar. You can also take tea without sugar

Which one is good? Wheat vs Jowar. What is the difference between them,? Wheat chapati or jowar rotte?

Doctrate In Dietetics, Ph. D - Psychology

Which one is good? Wheat vs Jowar. What is the difference between them,? Wheat chapati or jowar rotte?
Hundred gm of jowar contains 339 Calorie. Whole wheat contains about the same number of calories. Wheat contains more protein, dietary fibre, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, niacin, riboflavin, and thiamine when compared with jowar. Practically the only thing jowar beats wheat at is in iron content, and that too by the tiniest of margins. Diabetics will be pleased to note that wheat is a better food for them than jowar. The chapati has a lower glycemic index when compared with jowar roti, which means that it will release sugar into the bloodstream at a slower pace. Jowar may be tougher to chew but, surprisingly, wheat is much higher in dietary fibre. Wheat has a better amino acid profile when compared with jowar. Jowar also contains anti-nutritional and toxic principles that can lead to other nutritional deficiencies on prolonged consumption. Wheat is not recommended for the minuscule part of the population that is gluten-sensitive. Jowar, which is relatively gluten-free, is undoubtedly a better food for them. So, do not despair if you find it too hard to knead jowar dough; it really isn't worth it unless you are doing it for the taste.

I have some brown hairs on my head. What does it mean? Is there any deficiency that i'm facing? Please reply.
Brown hair is also a natural hair color. It depends on the pigmentation in your hair. So do not have to necessarily bother about the brown hair. But some signs of macro and micro nutrient deficiencies that you should look out for is, 1. Hair thinning. 2. Hair loss 3. Hair texture changes 4. Dry/itchy scalp 5. Dry skin 6. Dark circles around eyes 7. General weakness or lethargy if you have any of the above symptoms, you might need to counsel with a nutritionist/health coach for an appropriate guidance.

Hello! you need to know body structure is hereditary, so its difficult to change. But yes you can gain muscle by proper diet and exercise. Small n frequent healthy meals with some activity. You can take good quality protein in your diet. Like- milk n products, egg, chicken, dal & products. N visit a dietitian. It will help. The 1st thing you need to take care of is good quality protein, complex carbohydrate n good quality fat. N what you are taking before n after work out is also matter. Aim for around 40-50g carbs and 20-30g protein. This stabilises your hormonal system to enable tissue regeneration and keeps blood sugar stable.

CONSTIPATION :is due to an incorrect lifestyle and irregular eating patterns, not taking enough fluids, sedentary lifestyle. Foods that are heavy and difficult to digest, as well as oily, spicy, fried, and junk foods are the culprits. Eating food in a disturbed atmosphere or in front of the television and being awake late at night all lead to bowel disturbance. Psychological factors like stress, anxiety, fear, jealousy, and sorrow also play an important role. DIET & LIFESTYLE ADVICE: Increase intake of fiber, especially fruits and cooked vegetables. An Apple or Pineapple/Pomegranate each day is helpful.  Drink 7-8 glasses of lukewarm water each day. Take daily morning and evening walks for at least 20-30 minutes each. Eat whole grains /nuts/sprouts and Muesli in breakfast Avoid refined foods like white flour, bread, pasta, pizza, white rice,or high protein foods like cheese, meat and cold foods like ice cream or chilled drinks  Take meals in a relaxed and calm atmosphere. The food should be warm and freshly -prepared, as cold food slows the digestive power. Take 30 ml/6 tsp of syp Duphalac thrice daily after meals with lukewarm water. Soak 3-4 dried figs after washing them overnight in water. Eat them first thing in the morning,
