Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

You will have to elaborate your problem as to a detailed discussion of your back pain which means duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any leg pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias ( electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. There is no gap in knee joint.My left leg becomes bent when walking.I cant walk properly.

This means that you have bone in bone arthritis with deformity. Consider knee replacement. At the time of surgery the bent leg can be straightened, and a new one joint can give long lasting relief from pain.

Hi make daily routine for exercises which keeps your back fit and healthy. Exercises for back includes. Back ex, abdominal strengthening, generalconditioning, posture care, daily brisk walk etc. But it will be good if you start physiotherapy session and learn exercise for your back pain under supervision of skilled physiotherapist do reply for private consultation and detailed treatment plan. As my friend works with computer always he is suffering with back pain. What are the natural remedies can be used.
Stretch stretch stretch. Do stretching, relaxing postures daily for few minutes. Stretching may be done even during work. Have walks every one or two hrs in office itself for few minutes or more if possible. Deep breathing, meditation required. Also drink turmeric in hot milk or water. Report after a week. If no relief proper treatment will be told.

I am 37 years male. My left hand 10th rib cracked in an accident on 15/12/2016. Now I want to know how can I recover my rib early and after how many time I get my normal life. Please suggest me what is the best sleeping position in this condition, also give me idea about bike riding. Thank you.

Hello lybrate-user Fracture 10th rib: We need to discuss whether it is displaced or non-displaced fracture. Secondly, fracture of rib takes at least 1 month to heal and also pain persists for one to one-and-half month. You can sleep straight with soft pillow on your left chest to support fractured area. Also you can take right lateral position while sleeping. While bike riding, you need to wear RIB BELT to immobilize the area, otherwise bike riding will increase the pain. We need to order some blood investigations and then discuss your problem in detail. Kindly consult me in private. Thank you.

I am having a back pain in my bones how will it get relief from this pain please tell me I am fed up with it.
Rest First, you should rest your back. This doesn’t mean weeks of bed rest. Resting your back for about 48 hours after an injury or after the first time you notice significant pain. After that, you can slowly increase your activity level. Getting up and moving as soon as spasms and sharp pains subside can help ease pain and stiffness. Ice or Heat Applying ice or heat directly to the area of low back pain can help to decrease swelling and inflammation, and ease your discomfort. Studies have found that heat may be more beneficial than ice, but both been shown to alleviate low back pain. Once the pain subsides consult your physiotherapists for a exercise routine to strengrhen your back and core muscles.

Hi 1 relax and stay positive. 2 increase fluid intake. 3 eat seasonal fruits for natural vitamins 4 do stretching of hamstring, quadriceps, and calf muscles. 5 if you are overweight, reduce weight by cycling or swimming as it gives low impact on joints. 6 do check your calcium and vit. 7 apply moist heat pad to affected joint and muscles. If still you dont get relief consult physiotherapist as there are various causes for leg/ joint pain and some test may be required for further investigation. Best wishes.

1. No psychological reason. 2. Get X ray done and share report. 3. Start with Physiotherapy treatment. 4. Learn spinal exercises. 5. Don't sit on floor. 6. Don't lift heavy things. 7. Take calcium, vitamin D 3 and Methylcobalmine supplement for one month. 8. Apply volini cream before sleeping. 9. Use lumber spine belt.

Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front.

Hi it is possible to prevent neuropathy in your feet. Here are some tips to help you live a healthy lifestyle and prevent damage to the nerves in your feet: +rule out diabetes, vitamin b12 +eat plenty of whole grains, vegetables, fruits, and lean protein. +exercise regularly. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption. +be aware if you are sitting or standing in a cramped position; move around or shift often. +avoid repetitive motions; if possible, change your routines. For example, swim one day and run the next. +discuss new diets and exercise programs with your doctor first. Best wishes.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to have a persistent back pain as a health issue. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Hello, there are many reasons for this type of pain- 1. Overuse of muscle, 2. Deficiency of vitamin d3 or calcium, or lack of water in the body, 3. Postural stress, 4. Muscle strain, etc. Please send me all investigation reports if available. I can help you by teaching correct postural habits and ergonomics, do consult me privately. Till then follow these advises:- 1. Take calcium supplements and calcium rich diet like milk, paneer, buttermilk, cheese etc and sun bath daily to prevent further damage to your joints. 2. Avoid heavy lifting. 3. Avoid squatting and weight bearing activities. 4. Use western toilet. 5. Wear shock absorbing, good quality of shoes while walking. 6. Keep roll of a towel under your knees while sleeping. 7. Perform some gentle exercises and stretching of your all joints before getting out of your bed. 8. Walk straight with shoulder protracted. 9. Perform deep breathing exercises or yoga for proper functioning of lungs. 10. Perform calf pumping exercises, which i'll explain you in the next session. Thanks.

Hand fingers particularly index and ring fingers do not bent fully as well as get stuck at times in both the hands . What precaution and application to over come this. I am a diabetic as well as hypertension patient . Taking alapathy .

My mother (52year, 55 height) has back pain from two years. I already consult three or four doctors but at the end I can not get any fruitful result from it. Here, all treat taken through allopathic method. What would you suggest which is the best option to treat in this case, allopathic, acupuncture, homeopathy and naturopathy. Also I have a question related to my cheeks it is automatically removing my upper portion of neck. Hi Apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day..

This could be due to oa knee precipitated by injury physiotherapy along with medicines will help. Do knee exercises. It may have to be further investigated rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Any way take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Don't ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.
