You can create your own remedy at home by mixing up to two teaspoons of honey with herbal tea or warm water and lemon. The honey does the soothing, while the lemon juice can help with congestion. You can also simply eat the honey by the spoonful or spread it on bread for a snack.

I have dark spots in my face. And my skin becomes dry some times. What should I do?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
I have dark spots in my face. And my skin becomes dry some times. What should I do?
Homoeopathic cream ANTIMARKS CREAM ( BIOVALLEY) Apply twice daily in circular fashion Lemon Juice A quick and easy solution is lemon juice. Lemons have vitamin C that can lighten dark spots on your face. It’s easy to apply. 1. Put some fresh lemon juice on a cotton ball and rub it directly on the affected skin area. 2. Allow it to dry and then wash it off with plain water. 3. Continue applying this dark spot removal home remedy for at least two weeks to get the desired result. If you have delicate or sensitive skin, you can dilute the lemon juice with plain water, rosewater, or honey. You can also use lime juice to get rid of black spots, applying it in the same manner as described above. 2. Buttermilk Buttermilk is also beneficial in getting rid of dark spots. Like lemon juice, it also helps fade blemishes and black spots but without causing burning sensation. 1. Take four teaspoons of buttermilk. 2. Add two teaspoons of fresh tomato juice. 3. Mix the two ingredients (both have excellent bleaching properties) and then apply. 4. Wash it off after 15 minutes. The lactic acid in milk too, will gradually reduce skin pigmentation, and brighten and tone your overall skin complexion. So, if you do not have buttermilk, simply apply soak a cotton ball in milk and dab it directly on your spots. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and then wash it off Put milk on a cotton ball and dab it directly on your spots. Repeat this procedure twice daily for four to five weeks. You can also prepare a solution by mixing milk and honey and apply the solution to your dark spots, leaving it on for 10 minutes.

I have given my 6 weeks baby 4 vaccines today morning at 10 AM except PCV1 in govt hospital. But I consulted with doctor privately for PCV1-13 and he planned to give it tomorrow 6 PM. As it is a gap of 32 -34 hours is it safe to take the vaccine with cent percent effectiveness and benefit or some issue will be there? Please clear my doubt?

The vaccine can be given without any doubts or anxiety. The time interval is for LIVE VACCINES (MMR, Chicken-pox, Live attenuated Hepatitis A vaccine, Flu Vaccine - both intra nsal and injectable) in which case, the live vaccines can be given on the same day, otherwise a minimum of 4 weeks interval must be maintained.

5 Sure Shot Reasons Behind That Acidity

DM - Gastroenterology, MD - General Medicine, DNB (Medical), MBBS
Gastroenterologist, Delhi
5 Sure Shot Reasons Behind That Acidity

Acidity or acid efflux refers to a sharp pain and burning sensation in the center of a person’s chest. Often referred to as heartburn, this disorder affects millions of people across the world. Even though suffering from acidity once in a while is more or less normal, a frequent case of acid reflux may be indicative of a more severe underlying condition.

Here is a look at some of the common reasons behind your recurring acidity.

  1. Lying down after a meal: A meal requires a bit of time to get digested. Before digestion, the acid is contained in the stomach using the diaphragm. However, if you lie down right after having a meal, the diaphragm may or the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) may open up, causing the stomach acid to spill into the chest. This can alleviate acidity symptoms. Similarly, a particularly heavy meal can also cause acidity.
  2. Obesity: People who are overweight or obese have a greater risk of suffering from acidity compared to those who maintain an ideal body weight. So, start exercising and losing the extra pounds if you have been suffering from acid reflux for quite a while now.
  3. Certain foods: Citrus fruits and vegetables contain citric acid, which help in increasing the overall acidic level in the stomach. Other foods, which should be avoided and can be a cause for acidity include chocolates, garlic, mint, onions, oily and fatty foods. You do not have to stop having these foods completely, but you should try to avoid them as much as possible.
  4. Certain beverages: Alcohol consumption can often lead to acidity. It is best to avoid regular alcohol consumption and even if you choose to have a peg or two, make sure it is only for a limited period of time. Regular or excessive consumption of other artificially sweetened drinks, carbonated drinks and even tea or coffee, can also lead to acid reflux syndrome. If you partake any of these drinks, try to reduce the amount and ingest as little as possible.
  5. Pregnancy: Pregnant women undergo a plethora of changes in their bodies. Some are visible from the exterior, while the others happen inside the body. A range of hormonal changes occur at this point in time which can cause certain problems in the body. One of the major hormones linked to acid reflux during pregnancy is progesterone. This hormone is vital for the proper growth and development of the fetus, but the hormone also slows down the rate of digestion.

Hi Geeta... These tablets are not the solution for PCOS... They will just Mask the symptoms... Think of taking homoeopathic treatment... It has all the chances of curing it permanently.. Will also make your periods regular thereby making it easy to conceive.

Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. Mood swings need not be confused with normal day to day mood swings. We do get angry, sad or happy every day. Such type of mood swings are normal. But if the mood swings are severe, you need to get yourself assessed for mood disorder or depression. I suggest online assessment, counseling and if required, psychotherapy. Take care.

I am a 23 Year boy facing problem with hair fall and white hairs. Please suggest me.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
I am a 23 Year boy facing problem with hair fall and white hairs. Please suggest me.
Hi. Let me you about hairfall. We can divide hairfall into 2 types - temporary hairfall and permanent which is called 'Hairloss' rather and leads to bald areas of smooth and shiny surface. In temporary hairfall, hair grows back again from the same hair root, but in case of permanent hairloss, because of formation of DHT (Di- Hydro -Testosterone) around hair root it gets choked up which subsequently affects the blood supply to the hair and thus hair root is lost forever. Many factors are responsible formation of this DHT or hairloss- hereditary, post-illness/ ailment, post-delivery, post- chemotherapy, nutritional deficiencies, hormaonal imbalance, insufficient sleep, sudden loss of weight, stress/ tensions/ excessive anger any other underlying diseases, etc. Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs, pulses, legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnut and almonds), iron-rich food like green vegetables, also take flaxseeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smooking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga/ gym teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Get your S. Ferritin, S. Iron, S. Calcium, S. Vit. D3, S. Vit. B12 and Thyroid profile done and share the reports with me. Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200/ twice a day for 1 month and revert me back. You can also take a multivitamin - Supradyn or Centrum/ 1 tab. daily/ once a day for 3mths. as nutritional deficiencies can also leads to premature greying of hair.
