Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. Diabetes particularly if not in good control can cause erectile dysfunction, which may lead to unsuccessful intercourse. If your sperm count is normal and they are in good shape, if there is no ED, then there is no worry. In females Hypothyroidism is one of the major cause of infertility. But if TSh is well controlled (maintained <2 mU/L) then there is usually no problem for getting pregnant. Thanks.

Microwave Cooking - Do You Think It Is Really Healthy?

Microwave Cooking - Do You Think It Is Really Healthy?

Going up to a frozen entrée from your freezer, following the simple 'how to cook' instructions on the back, and popping it into the microwave oven can come up with a meal that took a total of not more than five minutes. And it is a modern amenity utilized in maximum American households. These days, a microwave is seen as 'almost impossible' to do without. Every single home owns a microwave oven.

How Microwave Works?

Microwave cooking is done through a process called radiation. Through light radiation, heat is produced, which helps in cooking the food at a specific temperature. For every food item; there is an absolute temperature which helps to prepare that food evenly. Since the cooking is done through radiation, the cooking time is reduced by 1/3rd of the regular cooking time. Microwave cooking process is both time-saving and energy efficient.

The question is 'is it really healthy to cook your food in a microwave?' Although the microwave is used widely across the globe, owing to the time saving and hassle-free features, it is the most preferred gadget for the kitchen. Some people still have doubt that cooking food with microwaves somehow makes food less healthy by killing the nutrients of food. Is microwave food really unhealthy?

The food cooked through radiation is often considered unhealthy as any kind of radiation is harmful to our body. Below are some points mentioned, which will help you make a wiser choice:

  1. The dielectric energy produced by the emission of microwave creates molecular friction for heating up the food items which also disrupts the healthy structure of food, hence destroying the healthy nutrients of the food.
  2. During the heating process of food through microwave, B12 vitamins found in raw meat and milk are destroyed or lessen by 40% as compared to conventional heating.
  3. There is plenty of packed food which comes with microwave-safe plastic packaging, but little do we realize that all the toxins in the plastic are transferred into the food. A plastic wrap contains elements like BPA, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), benzene, toluene, and xylene which can prove to be extremely harmful to the body.
  4. The non-ionizing radiation of the microwave increases the number of white blood cells along with cholesterol levels, resulting in changes in blood cells and heart rate.
  5. A microwave produces 2.4GHz radiation, which instantly affects the heart rate and heart rate variability. If you are experiencing an irregular heartbeat or eating microwave cooked food on a regular basis, the time has now come for you to stop this habit today.

Technology has undoubtedly made our lives easier; they are economical, energy efficient and time-saving. But excessive use of technology can harm us in ways that can't be imagined. Eating microwave cooked food can be dangerous as the heating is done through the radiation process which is not suitable for the human body. Also, the nutrients present in the food items are destroyed during heating, you can just feel full when you eat the microwave cooked food, nut without any nutrients. Hence, the time has come for you to stop eating the microwaved meal or at least lessen the intake of microwaved food to live a healthy life and maintain a proper diet.

At 8 months of pregnancy a hb 10 may be normal. But need to know previous hb report, and whether it has fallen in recent times or not. Also need to rule out any iron deficiency or any thalassemia carrier status. As your pregnancy is near completion, you should consult hematologist as early as possible. The iron deficiency can be corrected by iv iron if required for immediate correction of anemia. Hope it helps.

How To Drink Milk For Better Health?

How To Drink Milk For Better Health?

Milk is very important for a healthy lifestyle, as studies show that people who drink milk avoid significant fat gain. In milk there is calcium for healthy bones, phosphorous, magnesium, protein, vitamin B12, vitamin A, zinc, riboflavin, folate, vitamin C, and most importantly, vitamin D.

Buy organic milk. Studies have shown that organic milk is much healthier than regular milk. Some benefits of organic milk is the fact that organic milk is from cows that haven't been given growth hormones, it is wholesome, produced without harmful pesticides, etc.

  • Organic milk isn't produced with antibiotics. Overuse of antibiotics is a serious health problem. Today, of all the main places that antibiotics is overused is in agriculture. Organic milk comes from cows that were not given antibiotics, so it doesn't contribute to the growing problem of bacterial resistance.

Be aware of all the vitamins and minerals found in milk:

  • Calcium: Keeps bones and teeth healthy; helps your body maintain bone mass.
  • Protein: A good source of energy: builds and repairs your muscle tissue; good after work-outs.
  • Potassium: Helps you keep a good blood pressure.
  • Phosphorus: Helps strengthen your bones and gives you energy.
  • Vitamin D: Helps your body maintain your bones.
  • Vitamin B12: Helps maintain healthy red blood cells and helps maintain nerve tissue.
  • Vitamin A: Helps maintain the immune system; helps maintain normal vision and good skin.
  • Niacin: Improves your metabolism; have a glass before doing aerobics.

Drink milk to have clear skin. For thousands of years, milk has been known to keep skin clear. The lactic acid found in milk aids in removing dead skin cells, and therefore keeps your skin clear and rejuvenated.

Drink milk for healthy teeth. Milk has been shown to protect the enamel against acidic foods. Also, the calcium and vitamin D found in milk keeps bones strong, although teeth are not considered bones.

Problem may be due to hormonal injection that you are taking for follicular study. Due to injection there is changes in hormones that maintain hormonal balance for follicles. So don't worry it will recover itself.
