Hi I am 25 years female suffering from Tb. I have completed my medication for 2 and half months now I eat AKT-3 but still I do get khasi in a day sometimes 2-3 times a day and sometimes just once a day and sometimes 4-5 times a day. I want to know when my khasi will be relieved completely.

You will have to complete the course of total duration 6-9 months. Only coughing does not indicate failure of therapy. The sputum for AFB should be examined as per guidelines at 2 months 5 months 8 months to establish conversion. Wish you speedy recovery.

Syrups just suppress cough for few minutes and doesn't cure it. Better take proper homoeopathic treatment to cure it permanently.

I am suffering from dry cough from the Last 2 weeks and I have chest pain whenever I cough hard. Can you suggest what should be done?

DNB (Respiratory Diseases), MD - Tuberculosis & Respiratory Diseases / Pulmonary Medicine, Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases (DTCD)

Cough at your age which is dry 95% of cases is either due to viral fever which sometimes affect your upper airways or throat or nose or due to allergic cough as you are an allergic person or you have developed what we call post viral infection allergic bronchitis. Both will go away on its own. You cough with your chest muscles and they under go sprain with constant cough. To suppress your cough any cough suppressant across the counter is as good as natural remedies like throat lozenges; warm saline gargle, etc. Do not smoke. For you chest pain hot water bath and hot fomentation is as good as paracetamol tablet. Doing nothing for your viral fever induced cough is also ok. But for allergic cough consult if it persists for a few weeks. If cough is bothersome do consult to rule out any 5% major problem and also for your peace of mind. You should be ok.

Lot many causative factors are there for shortness of breathing, an attack may be brought on by contact with substances to which the person is sensitive and emotional or dietary factors should not be overlooked. A sudden change of temperature can bring on an attack. Some alleviation of the symptoms may be obtained with the use of the appropriate tissue salts,(biochemic) cuprum ars alternate with ferrphos, kali phos and mag phos if one appears to be more effective than the others, then you may take more of it. Requires detailed questioning so as to ascertain your personality and to treat you symptomatically. Treatment is available, safe and without side effects in biochemic system of medication. Consult me in private.
