Normally there is no bad effect if pregnancy is normal. But you should always cross check with your gynecologist. In the last trimester of pregnancy one should take care that there is not much pressure on abdomen. Lateral positions are better way to avoid undue pressures.

I am 26 yrs old and I have some obesity problem what can I do for decreasing my stomach.

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
You can't target one body part. You need to look at overall fat loss and toning. Eat small but frequent meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Lastly be committed. Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing. There is no short cut. It's a balanced intake that will last you longer. All the so called diets will only give you muscle and bone loss. The fats will remain as it is. So, try to first follow this seemingly simple tips. I am sure this suggestion will at least help you with initial fat loss.

Dealing with Less Libido in Women

MD - General Medicine
Sexologist, Nashik
Dealing with Less Libido in Women

According to contemporary medical studies, loss of sexual desire is more common in women than in men. As many as 3 in 10 women have reduced or limited sexual interest in any kind of sexual activity. While the medical term for this problem is Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD), it is generally understood as a loss of libido.

There are multiple factors that contribute to this problem including psychiatric or physical disorders, relationship issues, hormonal disorders etc. Let us look at the causes of this disorder at length:

1. Medical Disorders:

a) There are conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids and thyroid disorders that may have a negative impact on the sexual drive of a woman.

b) Certain medicines such as antidepressants, oral contraceptives, and medicines that lower blood pressure may also negatively impact the sexual drive in women.

2. Hormonal Disorders:

a) Dryness of the vagina and pain during sexual intercourse may affect sexual drive both mentally and physically.

b) After menopause, drop in the count of testosterone hormone also affects sexual drive which can result in loss of libido.

c) With advancing age, the level of androgens decrease, and hence results in a lack of sexual desire.

3. Lifestyle Disorders:

a) In some of the cases, lack of emotional support in a relationship plays a significant role in the loss of libido. Post baby 'coolness' may also act as a driving force for loss in libido.

b) In today's era, changing lifestyle is drastically affecting our lives. Following an unhealthy lifestyle may result in increased weight that may affect self-image, and indirectly may also affect the sexual desire.

c) Stress and job, family pressure and exhaustion may also influence sexual desire of a woman.

4. Psychological factors

a) Increasing cases of depression, anxiety, frustration, stress is also an important cause of loss of libido in the contemporary society.

b) After childbirth, new moms tend to suffer from lack of sleep, insufficient lubrication of the vagina and exhaustion, which may affect her sexual desire.

The first and foremost step towards dealing with it is to make your partner understand your problem. Then, it is important to consult a doctor to find out the underlying cause, thereafter, treatment of the cause can normalize the condition. Since there are multiple causes of the problem, there are different ways by which the loss of libido can be easily managed and treated. Some of them are discussed below:

1. Treatment of Hormonal Disorders: The doctors will suitably treat problems like thyroids or recommend surgical treatment for fibroids to manage HSSD.

2. Change in Medications: Since some of the medications are responsible for the lack of libido, the doctors will replace the medications to reverse this lack.

3. Addressing the psychological factors: Your doctor will either arrange for suitable psychiatric sessions or ask your partner to coordinate mutually.

4. Sex Therapy/Relationship Counseling or Testosterone Therapy: While sex therapy or relationship counseling brings back the interest by effectively counseling the individual, Testosterone therapy involves off-label usage of testosterone hormone since it is not recommended by FDA.

Proper treatment and consulting a medical expert can reverse this disorder efficiently. So, talk about the problem more openly to seek proper guidance and cure. You can also submit your queries or seek for our advice in detail by writing to us.

These are the methods to treat fastly acne & oily skin - • Imbalance in hormone level causes excessive sebum production and causes acne. So do not take stress and do exercise daily such as running, jogging and long breathing exercises. • Do YOGASANA daily. Especially do SINHASANA & SARVANGASANA daily. • Use oil free face wash and drink 7 -8 glass of water daily. • Take Vitamin-A capsule of 25, 000 I. U. Daily for atleast 28 days only under the guidance of a doctor. • Do not touch your pimple because your finger transfer bacteria to it and make it worse. If you touch it then clean your face with water. • Take cucumber and papaya pulp. Mix it well and add 1 tablespoon Turmeric. Make a paste and apply it on face and leave it for 15 minutes. • Steam your face to open the pores, which in turn clear the skin. Steam your face for a couple of minutes. • Take 2 teaspoon of RAKTASHODAK SYRUP of BAIDYANATH company once a day.

I got swelling under my eyes when I woke in the morning. Can you tell me the reason.

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology

I got swelling under my eyes when I woke in the morning. Can you tell me the reason.
Puffiness beneath the eyelids has various causes associated with it. (1) age related distribution of fat. With progressive time and age there occurs a re-distribution of a lot of body fat. This may lead to puffiness/ sagging/ bagginess of the lower eyelids. (2) excessive alcohol consumption has at times seen to be associated with puffiness of eyelids. (3) hypersensitivity/ allergy of the eyes may cause puffiness. It may be caused due to dust, pollen, insect bite, etc. (4) thyroid level fluctuation has at times been seen to be associated with puffiness of eyelids. (5) excessive obesity has been shown to be associated with puffiness of eyelids. (6) extreme condition such as orbital cellulitis: very rare. Also, it is usually associated with eye injury, surgery, systemic infection, etc. It is very less likely to be so in your case. (7) grave's disease: this has a tendency to be associated with thyroid disease (or other autoimmune conditions). It s also rare. It is associated with fatigue and weakness that progresses throughout the day. Thus, it would be a good idea to identify in the category that you come into and then tackle the situation. The reason for this being that each cause would have a different pattern of treatment. Let me know if I can be of further help. Hope my suggestions helped you.

I am 23 years old lady I am using sleeping peels from 2 years what should be its side effect?

Advanced Aesthetics
Ayurveda, Gulbarga
Sleeping pills have side effects like most medications. You won't know, though, whether you will experience side effects with a particular sleeping pill until you try it. Your doctor may be able to alert you to the possibility of side effects if you have asthma or other health conditions. Sleeping pills make you breathe more slowly and less deeply. That can be dangerous for people with uncontrolled lung problems such as asthma or copd. Common side effects of prescription sleeping pills such as lunesta, sonata, ambien, rozerem, and halcion may include: burning or tingling in the hands, arms, feet, or legs changes in appetite constipation diarrhea difficulty keeping balance dizziness daytime drowsiness dry mouth or throat gas headache heartburn impairment the next day mental slowing or problems with attention or memory stomach pain or tenderness uncontrollable shaking of a part of the body unusual dreams weakness it's important to be aware of possible sleeping pill side effects so you can stop the drug and call your doctor immediately to avoid a more serious health problem. Any queries inform me and stop sleeping pills and start ayurvedic treatment for that.

Masturbation is normal and does not cause physical problems or sexual problems. Also do not give any importance to advertisement that mention that masturbation cause health problems or destroys life, and masturbation does not require any treatment. Your problem is due to anxiety and tension you should involve yourself in studies, games and work, everything will be alright after sometime.

Hi this is Shaavez Khan.
And I wanted to ask you something related to my brother farooq.
He is suffering from Mania.
...
Dear lybrate user, since you have never consulted a doctor about your brother's emotional state, it would be better not to label his condition as" mania" it is advisable to let the counsellor/psychologist, assess him for his anger and state of depression. It appears to me that he feels that he is not valued at home. Probably he is not feeling loved by his family. There could be many reasons for this. It would be important to know, how your parents/grandparents react when they are angry. He has probably learnt to express his anger aggressively from the elders. When he is angry and starts shouting, how the rest of the family memebers react, also matters. If the family, surrenders to his demands when he shouts, then he will keep repeating this behaviour. The family members need to be assertive and need not satisfy all his demands just because he shouts. Try to talk to him about his feelings and help him to express his expectations from the family. Also talk to him about his own responsibilities. Appreciate his achievements, genuinely. Express your love and concern for him, verbally. Then you will see him cooling down. Ask him what actions of others will make him feel, that they love him. Learn more about anger management and teach him those techniques.
