Women In Their 40s - 6 Skincare Essentials For Them!

Women In Their 40s - 6 Skincare Essentials For Them!

Skin care is an essential part of health and beauty. Though some of you may avoid or ignore it for a long time while giving in way to bring on crow's feet beside the eyes, thin lines on the forehead, and fine lines over the face, yet these all can be taken care of even in your 40s. If you realize that you need to care and deserve to look good always, it's never too late to start a skin health regimen.

These are the 7 tips you need to follow to make your skin look healthy and glowing when you are in your 40s.

Know your skin type
Whatever skin product you use, always make sure that it is made for your skin type. To know that well, you must know your skin type first. Skin is generally of four types namely oily, normal, dry and combination. Know yours to start right.

1. Washing
Wash your skin everyday. Use a mild face wash. Washing after you come home from an outing is essential. Besides washing at bath time, and washing your face at night before going to bed is also important. This keeps the derm pores on the face clean, and prevents dust from piling and prevents acne and pimples.

2. Exfoliating
Exfoliation or scrubbing can be done as per your exposure to the outer world. In 40s your skin cells die sooner, and dead cells form a coat over the skin, which needs to be removed every week or so. Therefore, exfoliating the skin with a mild to normal scrubber in every 10 to 15 days is a good practice.

3. Sunscreen
This keeps the skin healthy and compact as derm pores are tightened preventing entry of dirt and oil. Use a sunscreen whenever you go out.

4. Wrinkle and anti ageing treatment
Use an anti ageing cream or serum twice a day, preferably in the morning and at bedtime.

5. Under eye care
Care for your under-eyes and prevent dark spots and patches and the formation of crows feet. These obvious formations after 40 can be healed somewhat with daily care of skin around the eyes. Make sure you use 100 % uv protection sunglasses every time you step out. Do not use harsh scrubs or massage the area.

6. Lifestyle
Sleep at least 8 hrs a day. You can do yoga or meditation to relax your facial muscles.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!

I m 17 yrs old. And I m getting pimples on my face from last 5 months. What should I do?
These are the best methods to cure pimples fast -: • To control the sebum (oily) secretion you should maintain your hormonal level. Because imbalance in hormone level causes excessive sebum (oil) production and causes pimples. So do not take stress and do exercise daily such as running, jogging and long breathing exercises. • Use oil free face wash and drink 7 -8 glass of water daily. • Do not touch your pimple because your finger transfer bacteria to it and make it worse. If you touch it then clean your face with water. Touch your face very less. • you can use a face pack of fuller's earth (multani mitti) with rose water one time in a day for seven days. It removes toxins from skin and remove pimples.,• • Give Steam your face to open the pores, which in turn clear the skin. Steam your face for 3-5 minutes daily. • You can take 2 teaspoon of SAAFI SYRUP daily for 1 month for clear face. • Take 20 gm powder of Black pepper and 50 gm of Amla powder. Mix it and take 1/2 tea spoon of this mixed powder daily with luke warm water for 15 days for pimple free skin. • use a mild moisturiser for your skin only in winters..

Dear Lybrate-User, Hair fall is a very common problem, if you are losing few hairs then it is normal and you need not stress as stress can increase the problem. There can be many reasons for hair fall like the one you are describing. If you are seeing bald spots then it could result in alopecia and you need to see a doctor immediately to stop it from spreading and ultimately resulting in baldness. Temporary Hair fall caused by nutritional deficiency, long term effect of stress, pollution, use of a chemical based product. 1.Scalp Infection: Inflammation condition, dandruff, dermatitis, psoriasis. 2.Due to internal illness like typhoid 3.Drug use of antihypertensive and anti depressant. 4.Overuse of hair product 5.Genetic factors: if it runs in the family. 6.Environmental factors-pollution, toxic chemicals But do not worry, your hair can grow back, for hair growth to begin there must be healthy hair follicle and healthy papilla to feed it. Because new follicles are not formed after birth, any improvement in hair growth has to be aimed at existing follicle one could either improve the quality of hair already being produced or incite new growth in the dormant follicle. Quality of hair cannot be solely improved by using cosmetic products but it needs to be corrected constitutionally and internally, therefore, following a diet and medicines for the same is mandatory. You can book your appointment so that I can provide you with a personalized solution. Meanwhile, you can follow these tips for healthy growth and stoppage of hair fall. 1. Use the right type of oil for your hair, if your hair is dry you can use Valeda Herbal Brahmi Hair oil and if it is oily you can go for water based Valeda Herbal Chamomilla Hair Tonic, it will strengthen your hair. 2.Address the root cause of hair fall for long lasting results. Root cause lives in the roots itself 3.Eat more green leafy vegetable as they are rich in fibers and prevent hair fall. Also consume milk, butter, vit B-complex, vit-C. Food like-sprouts, whole grain etc, wheat provide essential nutrients your hair needs to grow. 4.Conventional Ayurveda treatment for hair loss has wide acceptance for its zero side effect and long lasting results. 5. Avoid harsh sun and protect your hair. 6. Do not comb wet hair as they are fragile. Use neem wood comb to ensure good blood circulation and comb more often. You can choose a wide toothed comb. For any further and specific assistance that you may need, please feel free to book an appointment as per your convenience.

Dear lybrate-user, start taking black til (seasam) with a glass of lukewarm milk early morning. Avoid pickles, spices, oily, greesy food items, too much of salt in food shud be avoided. Start avle ka murabba daily. Also have a high protien rich diet e. G. Pulses, dry fruits, black gram, ground nut etc, white of egg (if you eat egg). Also oil your hair with good herbal oil and wash with herbal shamppoo - avoid shampoos with high acid contents. As far as ayurveda's therapy is concerned - start with shirodhara with herbal oil and nasyam therapy for atleast 15 days. This will greatly help. Do gentle massage with herbal hair oil daily night for 15 minutes. Please update with your valuable feedback.

Dear lybrate-user. It seems that you do take good care of your hair. That is good. Hairfall can be due to various reasons ranging from hormonal to nutritional and as well as other factors like stress like illness, surgery etc. You should consult a medical Hair expert locally and go for blood tests to evaluate for any deficiencies and imbalances. Also clinical examination of your scalp can give further lead to the type of hair-loss. Following which you will be prescribed medication and nutritional supplementation, if required, accordingly. Apart from this, you should make sure that your diet is wholesome as best way to provide nutrition to hair is through your food in long run.
