If your three pregnancy tests are negative, most probably you are not pregnant. To confirm or rule out pregnancy do a serum bhcg test which is confirmatory. Very early pregnancy may not show on ultrasonography.

I do not get why your wife wants to get sonography done. I pill.is a hormonal medicine. Is difficult rather impossible to judge the effect . whether she is pregnant or not would be known once she misses her menstrual cycle.

It is called safe period of family planning but it is unsafe meaning high failure rate. In a woman having 28 days regular cycle safe period is considered as from day 1 to 10 and 17 to 28 counting from first day of last period. If periods have different cycle depending on that counting changes. Nothing like over weight damaging egg. There are many temporary family planning methods like oral pills, injectable hormones, Intra uterine devices, condoms, diaphragms, safe period, coitus interruptus etc. You must know about success and failure rates of all as well as advantages and dis-advantages of all to decide which suits you the best. May be consult Gynecologist as a couple.

Most important symptom is missed period. There r other symptoms but all of them appear 2 weeks after the missed period. Those r nausea, vomiting, breast fullness and increased urination. If you have a missed period then you should get urine pregnancy test done at home after 7 days of missed period to confirm it.

The Importance Of Wellness Check-Ups And Preventive Health Care

MD - General Medicine, MBBS Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery
Endocrinologist, Indore
The Importance Of Wellness Check-Ups And Preventive Health Care

Almost no one likes going to the doctor, but it is something that everyone should put on the top of their priority list. Even if you feel fine and think your body is in top condition, regular wellness check-ups are extremely important. You could be leading a healthy lifestyle with a healthy diet and doing a lot of exercise, and have no bad habits such as drinking and smoking, but regular check-ups and preventive health care are still important.

Routine check-ups can detect serious illnesses in their early stages, when you are not even showing any symptoms, and that is the main reason why they are so important. For instance, if you happen to have high blood pressure, high blood sugar or high levels of cholesterol, you may not be aware of that, since the symptoms are not as pronounced in the early stages. Even a very fit and otherwise healthy person can develop certain types of cancer without even knowing it.

This is where a blood test can help you, which is why going to the doctor on a regular basis is something you absolutely must do to maintain good overall health.

How Can Regular Check-ups Benefit Your Health?

It is crucial that you visit your doctor on a regular basis (annually or even more often) and schedule wellness check-ups. They can help you find out if you have a serious disease that must be treated. When you schedule those check-ups regularly, you can take your health in your own hands and ensure that you maintain a healthy lifestyle.

The earlier your doctor diagnoses a certain condition and starts treating it, the better the chances are that the treatment will be as effective as possible. There are a number of tests you should do on your every check-up and those include blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, HIV test, mammogram, osteoporosis screening, genetic testing for breast or ovarian cancer for some women, and many other preventive tests.

A simple blood test can benefit your health immensely and you need to be aware of how important regular testing is.

Why Should Preventive Health Care Be Your Highest Priority?

The Importance of Wellness Check-ups and Preventive Health CareApart from the benefit of detecting the symptoms of a potential disease on time, preventive health care can also help you avoid the physical pain you would have to endure in case you wait for the disease to spread. You need to remember that most diseases can be prevented or cured if you address the issue early on. It can also make you feel more energetic and more functional throughout your every day, as it helps you maintain your health.

It is no secret that medical care can be very expensive, so preventive health care can definitely help you save a lot of money. It is better to pay for a simple preventive procedure than to spend a fortune on the treatment of some potentially serious illness that has reached an advanced stage. Almost every health insurance plan includes preventive health care and can cover preventive medical expenses, so it is of utmost importance that you invest in health insurance, and in doing so investing in a stress-free future.

Dear user. FERTILE PHASE is the phase of a female's menstrual cycle when an egg (ovule) is released from the ovaries. In humans, ovulation occurs about midway through the menstrual cycle, after the follicular phase. The few days surrounding ovulation (from approximately days 10 to 18 of a 28 day cycle), constitute the most fertile phase. So if you have ejaculatory sexual inter course from day 10 from the first day of period and to day 20, the chances of pregnancy are much more. There are many determinants of pregnancy. You should be sexually matured. Your partner should be sexually matured. The period of your partner should be in the fertile stage. Female egg and male sperm cells should be healthy enough. Then female uterus should be capable to get conceived. If all these are satisfied, the pregnancy could be a result. Take care.

HIV-Positive Women Face Many Challenges!

HIV-Positive Women Face Many Challenges!

People who have the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, commonly known as 'HIV', are known as HIV positive people. The virus is the agent of AIDS that is currently incurable. HIV is known to alter the human immune system and makes people much more susceptible and vulnerable to diseases and infections. Body fluids such as semen, blood, breast milk, vaginal fluids etc. of an infected individual contains the virus which can be passed from one person to another during blood-to-blood and/or sexual contact. HIV positive women may even pass on this virus to their children during pregnancy, delivery or by breast feeding them. HIV is also transmitted during oral, anal or vaginal sex, by contaminated hypodermic needles and by blood transfusion.
Mentioned below are a few issues that a HIV positive woman has to face apart from discrimination and stigma, fear of infecting their children or partners, violence and abandonment.

  1. Menstrual Disorders: Changes in menstrual cycles are frequently reported by HIV infected women. However, menstrual dysfunctions are due to varied reasons that aren't directly related to the disease. Although most of the HIV positive women suffer from amenorrhea i.e. the unusual absence of periods, it is not just due to HIV but also because of weight loss or immunosuppression.
  2. Contraception: It is very important that the contraception a HIV positive woman chooses not only acts as birth control but also to prevent the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases and HIV. Although condoms do not provide exceptional pregnancy prevention, they are excellent at preventing transmission of the HIV virus. Permanent sterilization is usually the most chosen contraceptive method for HIV serodiscordant couples.
  3. Surgical Complications: HIV positive women are at a higher risk of undergoing gynecologic surgery. This is because they are more vulnerable to pelvic infectious disease that requires surgical intervention. There is also a greater risk of developing vulval cancer in HIV positive women.
  4. Fertility: There has been an increase in the number of seropositive women contemplating pregnancy and childbirth. Most couples resort to assisted reproduction to lower the risk of horizontal HIV transmission. Studies show that undergoing HIV treatment and having an undetectable viral load is helpful in preventing the transmission of HIV. It is important to consult a medical expert if you are unable to get pregnant after at least 6 months of trying. Fertility problems are more common in HIV positive women than HIV negative women.
