Dear lybrate user. Welcome to lybrate. Alcohol is poison. Your liver works hard to disintegrate alcohol and in the process damages itself. Therefore, there is nothing like safe limit. Even a single drop is bad for liver at any stage of your life. Please quit alcohol. Take care.

Hi lybrate-user, you are suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder. Obsessive compulsive disorder (ocd) is characterized by unreasonable fears or obsessions that cause a person to engage in compulsive behaviors to minimize or relieve their anxiety. Ocd can range from mild to severe and it can also be accompanied by other mental health issues. Coping with ocd can be difficult, especially the sufferer is not seeking professional help. Psychiatrists use different kinds of therapy and medication to treat people with ocd. Ocd patients can also do things like keep a journal, join a support group, and use relaxation techniques to help them cope with ocd. If you think that you might have ocd, you should seek professional help from a mental health professional. Keep reading to learn more about how to cope with obsessive compulsive disorder. Ocd causes lots of stress and anxiety. Therapy and medication may help to relieve some of your negative feelings, but you should also take time to relax every day. Incorporating activities like meditation, yoga, deep breathing, aromatherapy, and other soothing techniques will help you cope with your stress and anxiety make sure to take the medications that your psychiatrist prescribes exactly as directed. Do not skip, stop, or increase your dosage without talking to your psychiatrist first.

Dear lybrate user. I can understand. This usually happens because f lack of self confidence and lack of self esteem. Lack of proper experience in the field also can cause these problems. You need to improve your attitude, self confidence and self esteem along with experience. I suggest online therapy to improve all these. Take care.

My Son is 2.5 years old. He is fine as regards to health. He has a very good intellectual capabilities, he can remember the names of all my family members, can easily recite the stories that I tell him and can also talk in a fluent manner. He also can also identify the pictures in his study book. But as and when he is growing old he is getting scared of even the things that he used to enjoy earlier like riding a swing, or he gets too much scared of the balloon or crackers. He use to hang his breath when he was less than 1.5 years, but now he has no such problem. I just want to know how I tackle this problem, I create stories where he enjoys blowing of balloons or riding swings or blowing crackers. He enjoys them. But he is still too scared of things. Me and my also use to be scared of things when we were kids. So just need idea how to tackle this.

Dear lybrate-user. Children are social creatures. They always associate things with something else which gives them scare. Here, he is afraid of sound may be because he associated the sound with some other painful or worrying experience. You have to remove that association. Stories will not help. Tip- blow a balloon or cracker and immediately offer something which the child likes. Repeat the exercise many times. Now the child will associate the noise with something pleasurable and he will not be scared. You can experiment with other things also in the same way. But before that I advise you to speak to me, regarding the swings, the child is scared because of the balance problem created by the eustachian tube. It will take time, but the child will get used to it. Don't worry. Take care.

Hye, thanks for the query. There are absolutely no health benefits of smoking or alcohol you can try to justify your drinking or smoking but the truth is there is no recommendation at all. Even two beers daily will end up in your getting some health issue. Smoking increases your risk of cancer, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, eye disorders such as cataracts, rheumatoid arthritis, dental problems and stroke. That's because the substances in cigarettes can damage your organs and increase your body's level of free radicals, compounds that harm dna and cellular tissue. There aren't any foods or drugs that can prevent or undo the effects of smoking. Alcohol give you unwanted fats in the body and liver damage in the long run.

Hi Dr. I am dealing with the problem of not remembering things and everyone my family has noticed this thing. How do ...
This problem is due to irritation and inadequate nutrition of the brain. So follow few basic things …. 1) drink only 100-150 ml of water during meals …. 2) don’t drink water one hour before meals and one hour after meal… 3) avoid oily, spicy, salty, junk, fast, fermented and stale foods… 4) avoid coffee and tea… 5) try to sleep upto 10.30 pm … 6) do anuloma viloma pranayam and omkar chanting regularly early in the morning… A) eat 30-40 black currants and 1 tsf of jaggery during meals… B) take 250 ml of fresh butter milk during meals. C) instill 3-4 drops of brahmi taila in each nostril at the time of sleeping…… Do all these things for 15 days. It gives you good result. Consult to me for further suggestions. THANKS.

Hello lybrate-user, I can understand the pressure one goes through these days due to professional commitments. Remember ,you are not alone in this kind of grind and nor is this permanent. Things keep changing, you never know. Its all about compartmentalizing things. Give your best to both the spheres. The golden rule is one should never let the circumstances outside, disturb one's inner self.In the mean time you can try for some change also.
