Hi, I am 37 years old varicose veins I have such a long back. Doctors advised me to wear stockings socks which company is best or comfortable daily? I am dieting well eating fruits veg but still i am losing my hair and mb I have over weight? After the birth child I have gained 10 kg extra how to lose my weight. I can't diet because i am getting bp low? Please.

DNB (Radio Diagnosis), MBBS
Radiologist, Hyderabad
Hello lybrate-user, it is unfortunate that you are suffering from varicose veins. There are a number of options available for treating - surgery, sclerotherapy, lasers etc. If you are not keen on these treatments you can opt for stockings. In market there are two types of stockings - one which we get in most medical stores are called support stockings - they do not give sufficient compression for varicose veins. The other is usually available in surgical stores. They are called class ii compression stockings. These class ii stockings are usually prescribed if your arteries are fine. They provide up to 30mmhg pressure at ankle level which will prevent symptoms of varicose veins and also prevent complications. The stockings are available in thigh length and knee length. More than the brand the size of the stockings are important. Please make sure that the size is appropriate for you. Cotton stockings are more comfortable - but little bit more costly than synthetic ones. Hope this helps you.

Other friends advice stop the medicine so medicine stopped but my pennies not strong I am fully suffering sir pls request my permanent solutions me sir. Pls. Sir.

Homeopath,
Dear lybrate user, megalis contains tidalfil. Tidalfil is one of the sexual steroid but it has much lesser side-effects than any other sexual steroids. Now one of the side-effects of sexual steroid is that it will higher the blood pressure. But do not take any medication for blood pressure because medication for lowering blood pressure will surely lower your sexual power.

I am a 32 year old man with 5'5" height. Recently married, with a new born child. I have a history of high blood pressure hospitalized in 2015 end. I have taken measures to lower my blood pressure by lowering my weight from 75 kgs to 62 kgs by checking on my diet (mainly salad and non-oily foods) and mild exercise. But recently, I learned that when I eat normal cooked foods like rice, dal and some fried stuff, my weight increases quite quickly. (70 kgs presently) I am fed up of the salad and other diet measures I used to take. Kindly, suggest some measures to increase my metabolism and stay in shape.

Raised blood pressure is not a disease in itself. It is just a sign of some underlying disorder. Homeopathy offers good prognosis for cases of essential hypertension. The treatment is based upon the cause and the totality of the case. A constitutional homoeopathic treatment will cure you permanently. You can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance

(1)what is the safe difference between systolic and dystolic pressure (2) systolic pressure increase or dystolic pressure increase which is more important and dangerous (3) can there be difference in the bp measured in right hand and left hand. (4) are the readings of electronic bp measuring instruments such as omron with hand cuff are reliable.(5) what is the optimum time to measure bp at home regularly with omron and in which position. (6) is it true that once tablets are being taken for bp control it cannot be stopped for life time.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
1. Systolic bp is the presure that blood exerts on walls of arteries during heart contractions. Its normal range is 120-139 mm of hg. Diastolic bp is the pressure of blood on walls of arteries when the heart is at rest between contractions. Its normal range is 80-89 mm of hg. So the safe difference between both is apprx. 30-40 mm of hg 2. Although both r important but in topical countries like india systolic bpis more important as its increase indicates hypertension and its dangerous as most of the cases of high bp remains undetected due to poor knowledge of regular health chk ups nd ignorance in under developed countries like ours. 3. There is almost zero difference of bp in both arms. If there is a difference then it can be suggestive of some arterial disease. 4. According to me these imported gadgets r made according to western climate standards and there iss a possibility that readingss may vary in hot countries like ours. 5. If you r hper or hypotensive then a regular chk up of bp is required every week. If normal then check up after 3-4 months is required. 6 it depends. Firstly u must be having a strong knowledge of your problem, its limitations, nd what all u can do to overcome it, only then u can get rid of the medicine. Actually once hypertension is detected we indians start taking medicines on aregular basis without future consultations nd this is the start of problem. So be determined to avoid medicine as much as u can but for that proper knowledge is required. Medicine is a must when u have a problem but dont be a slave of these medicines but take their help timebeingly as our body has a power of self healing. Actually we r weak and underestimate ourselves.

My age is 23 yrs. When I measure my blood pressure it is 155/90 most of time. But I have no symptoms of high BP like headache etc. What should I do.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, Few lifestyle changes can help you in controlling and preventing the high blood pressure, even if you're taking blood pressure medication. Eat healthy foods. Consume more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy foods. Eat less saturated fat and trans fat. Decrease the salt in your diet. So, avoid eating processed foods, such as canned soups or frozen dinners which contains extra salt in it. Keeping a healthy weight, or losing weight if you're overweight or obese, can help you control your high blood pressure and lower your risk of related health problems. Increase physical activity which can help lowering your blood pressure, manage stress, reduce your risk of several health problems. Get indulged in regular exercising (if your doctor allows you). Limit alcohol. Even if you're healthy, alcohol can raise your blood pressure. If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation. Don't smoke. Tobacco injures blood vessel walls and speeds up the process of hardening of the arteries. Reduce stress as much as possible. Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation, deep breathing or meditation. Getting regular physical activity and plenty of sleep can help, too. Monitor your blood pressure at home. Medication: Take Schwabe’s Essentia Aurea/ thrice daily which is a cardio-tonic which helps in maintaining blood pressure, improves muscle tone of the heart and narrowing of blood vessels.

1. I am taking amloz at for blood pressure. Can I take any other medicine (cheaper) inlieu of this medicine. Please advice. 2. I am a case of obesity (approx 125 kgs) can you suggest some weight loss medicines.

General Physician (AM)
Alternative Medicine Specialist, Chandigarh
Tonicard (homeo) for weight loss; 1. Whole-grain bread. Research shows that people who follow a weight-loss program incorporating whole-grain breads, cereals, and other foods lose more body fat from the abdominal area than those who eat only refined-grain foods, like white bread and rice. 2. Low-fat milk and yogurt. Scientists have found that the more calcium in fat cells, the more fat those cells will burn. In one study, two groups of overweight mice were put on a restricted-calorie diet, but one also got calcium supplements. The no-calcium mice lost 8 percent of their body fat, compared to 42 percent among the mice that did get calcium. 3. Lean protein. Good sources of protein, such as lean meats, eggs, and beans, help keep your blood sugar stable. The result you will feel full longer and get a boost in energy and that will help you burn more belly fat. Consult me in private for detailed treatment.

high cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take green veg., whole grain.garlic,. Take anti cholesterol medicines . take tab. folic acid-5 once a day for iron.

Do not worry do get BP checked. And echo - ultra sound of heart in the mean time when ever you have this problem take a glass of water, sprinkle ice cold water on face and take deep breath and force the air out with nose and mouth closed as you do when you r constipated - relax, go for morning walk for 30 mts and do deep breathing exercise for 10 mts report back after 7 days good luck.
