Dear, anger and aggression are emotions. Anger comes when you become irritated. Irritation happens when you don't like something, or when something is repeated. As anger is an emotion, it should be vent out. You should be able to throw anger out instead of controlling it. But more perfect will be, know the frustrating situations and stop being emotional. If practiced properly, you will not get irritated at those circumstances at all. Those techniques are much easier to understand. Take care.

Dear Lybrate user. I can understand. Loosing someone dear and near causes grief. Grief leads to disappointment. Grief related disappointment manifests symptoms as in the case of depression. But disappointment symptoms are far shorter in duration than depression. These symptoms will vanish in some days or weeks. Don’t worry. Physical exercise, outdoor games, entertainment, hobbies etc could help you divert your attention. I suggest cognitive therapy. Take care.

Dear lybrate user Addiction is very strong. Your mind and body is habitual to alcohol and when you stop consuming alcohol you get cravings and you again get stucked into it. Addiction is psychological and you can get rid of it with psychotherapy and clinical hypnotherapy. Many people have successfully came out from their addictions permanently.

Hi doctor. My boyfriend is facing a problem. He gets depressed. He shouts on everyone for everything. He very confused about anything he wants and everything he is doing. He used say he gets a dream of people following him trying to kill him. He wakes up suddenly with dysnea and sweating. He used to smoke marijuana for about four years everyday more than thrice. Than later he stopped but smokes once in a while. He gets frequent headaches. He feels tired very easily. He stopped mingling with people. He became very cranky. Just wants what he want. Or he will start shouting. Doesn't just think about anything els than himself. What can I do? This is becoming serious day by day. Should I take him to a psychiatrist? Is all this because of Marijuana?

Hi doctor. My boyfriend is facing a problem. He gets depressed. He shouts on everyone for everything. He very confuse...
Marijuana effects people differently and os it is possible that he is showing the signs of toxic psychosis and needs immediate help from a psychiatrist. He must stop the use of grass right away and see if there are any improvements: anyway, it does not seem to agree with his constitution. If he is lucky and this condition is caused by the substance abuse, it may not last long and he could recover with some professional help and complete abstinence. If on the other hand, he has some genetic factors to consider for his mental consition, then he has a lot of work to do combining medication with therapy.

Hi lybrate-user, Thanks for posting your problems on Lybrate. 1. First what you have to understand is our mind is like a running river, it keeps flowing. But when it starts overflowing, we have to keep a check on that so that it does not cause harm to us. 2. Like wise, the problem you are facing is over thinking which needs to be kept under chack so that you can concentrate on other important issues of your life. 3. The cause for this is:- few of the neurons in the brain are over activated because of excess synthesis of neurotransmitters like Norepinephrine, Dopamine and Glutamate and under-synthesis of Serotonin. The levels of these should be normal for us to think in a normal way. 4. So, with medications, the levels of these said neurotransmitters can be brought to normal, so that your thinking pattern comes back to normal. Kindly clarify few things to me, 1. Do you consider those thought keep coming even though you try hard to stop them from coming? 2. As you know already you have problem of overthinking, what methods have you tried to control them. 3. Have you consulted doctor before and tried medications and counselling, if yes, specify treatment. 4. How have this over thinking affected your social life, personal life, profession. Currently I consider you may be suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, which is quite common in our country and with medications and counselling, it can be effectively controlled.

Hello, I am 22 years old and now I am facing with a problem where when I read something or remember something I tend to forget it or can't clearly remember it. The brain is like in a pause state where how much ever I feed it, it takes least or responds less. To clarify more No problem other than this which would have led this. Before 2years I used to be quick grasper but now need to read many a times still everything won't be recalled! is it biological change or psychological change? Any solution for it?

It can be both, biological and psychological. At 21 years you are into professional course where the type of study is different from what u did till 12th, this requires some witful techniques to learn things. Psychological, because at 21 years, you might have a lot of stressful factors around you which can affect your levels of concentration and attention span, if that is the cause, then consult me soon.

Hello, Sulpitac can be given up to 1200 mg in divided dosage. In the beginning of the treatment drug starts showing its maximum effect and then the improvement is slow. Medications are not magic pills and it usually take some time to control symptoms. Being patient here is the key. I can understand the problem you are facing. You have to understand what she is doing is because of the illness. She has no touch with the reality and once she will improve she will start taking medications. Contact nearby psychiatric clinic for help or to get her admitted. If there has been a history of medication been taken irregularly ask your psychiatrist to start him on long acting injections which are to be given once a month. These injection will take care of her symptoms even when she don't take her medication. For any further help you can contact me. Best wishes.
