Follow advises given below 1.Avoid using computers continuously, take rest for 5 min after working for half an hour 2. In pain free interval do neck exercise (learn exercise by registered Trainer) 3. you can use thin pillow while sleeping so that normal posture of neck can be maintained 4.Maintain proper posture of body while watching TV/ studying Get cervical X ray AP and lateral done and review with reports Consult Physician/me for Further Management

Hi I am 86 years old and for the last about a month or so, I feel heaviness in the head resulting in difficult to understand others, difficulty to hear and feel difficult to walk. I had bypass surgery once in 1987, engioplasty three times and pace maker was put three yrs ago. I have type 2 diabtese also controlled. Please advice.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. \navoid bending in front. \npostural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang asana? lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a da.

I am 48 years old. Having diabetes for about 7 years. Both of my foot are swelling. Createnine and urea under control. Kidney functions normally. Taking about 5 liters of water every day. What is the best way to treat. Out of 1000ml capacity of my urinary bladder I can pass only 400ml still about 600 ml remain as residual urine. No pain or sensation of residual urine. What to do?

You have not clarified if your diabetes is under control or not. There are many other reasons for swelling feet. Like liver disease and heart failure and many more. So exact reason has to be diagnosed. Urine retention can be due to prostate enlargement. Swelling feet may even be due to some medicines.

Pain in back neck in every 5-6 days properly. Please tell me this cervical or else.
The most common causes of neck pain are: poor posture, muscle strain, arthritis, trauma from your symptoms I feel your pain is from poor posture or muscle strain. Try the following home treatment measures which will help speed your recovery. 1-heat or ice: use a heating pad on a low or medium setting for 15 to 20 minutes every 2 or 3 hours. Take a warm shower in place of one session with the heating pad. You can buy single-use heat wraps that last up to 8 hours. Try an ice pack for 10 to 15 minutes every 2 to 3 hours. 2-get moving, but carefully: movement helps your muscles stay strong. Avoid activities such as lifting and sports that make pain and stiffness worse. Do stretching and strengthening exercises to keep your neck flexible and strong and prevent stiffness.(please do private consult with a physiotherapist for specific exercises) avoid or change any activities that may be causing your neck pain, such as sitting for a long time at the computer or doing too much overhead work at a time. Gently massage or rub the area to relieve pain and encourage blood flow. Don't massage the injured area if it causes pain. 3-practice good health habits: try to reduce stress and tension at work and home. Practice relaxation exercises. Exercise regularly, including aerobic exercise such as walking. You should consult a gp immediately if the pain is accompanied by: -numbness -loss or strength in your arms or hands -shooting pain in the shoulder or down one arm. Best wishes.

I am 65 years old with controlled bp by taking mild doses of medicine but for last one yr, have been suffering from knee-pains more on left while climbing stairs up or down. Walking 45 monts at dawn-time plus yoga n knee-pain exercise except sunday (rest day. Six months back had taken homeo mediclne like clmlclfuga, guaiacum. Now putting finger- pressure at back of knee-joint for last 15 days. At present pains are little less. Can you prescribe best knee-pain exercises and yoga. Not interested in any type of medicine

I am an orthopaedic surgeon, so it will be best for a good physical therapist to answer your question but you will have to visit personally to actually learn them initially, but main focus is on quadriceps and hamstring exercises, general rule is to avoid high impact exercises because they may worsen your symptoms and concentrate on daily brisk walks for 2-3 km in a day. Moisten the skin

The basic rule of taking care of the skin during winter is to moisten it properly. It is recommended to use a moisturizing soap and shampoo while bathing. As soon as you take bath, always use the best body lotion so that, your body does not lose the moisture and water get locked in the skin. Use the herbal or natural skin products on the steroids based pharma products. These products with steroids usually work in a harsh manner to destroy the psoriasis scales from your body without caring for the skin. While you can also try the natural products such as aloe vera, coconut and tea tree oil, including neem oil, glycerine, and honey which would work great on the psoriasis scales and keeps the moisture of your skin.

Pain in the arm can result from a number of factors. Abnormalities or injury of the skin, nerves, bones, joints, blood vessels, and soft tissues of the arm can all result in pain. Arm pain may be the result of referred pain from another part of the body. Please go to a physiotherapist to assess and treat the underlying condition. If pain is caused by an activity, modify or stop the activity. Rest the arm and resume activity gradually. Monitor the response to the activity. Pain experienced in the right arm is usually not serious, but when it is coupled with other symptoms like pain in the leg or tightness of the chest, it may be more serious. Try some home remedies: ice will reduce pain and swelling. Apply ice or cold packs immediately to prevent or minimize swelling. Apply the ice or cold pack for 10 to 20 minutes, 3 or more times a day. Elevate the painful area on pillows while applying ice and anytime you are sitting or lying down. Try to keep the area at or above the level of your heart to help minimize swelling. Apply heat and begin gentle exercise with the aid of moist heat to help restore and maintain flexibility. Some experts recommend alternating between heat and cold treatments. Gently massage or rub the area to relieve pain and encourage blood flow. Do not massage the area if it causes pain. Do not smoke or use other tobacco products. Smoking slows healing because it decreases blood supply and delays tissue repair. Please consult a physiotherapist for detail assessment and management of your arm pain. Best wishes.
