My daughter is 1 year old.In 24 hours she sleep 2 hours in day and 7-8 hours in night but not properly. She wakes up 2-3 times in night. She is also under weight baby.In this case what should I do? She don't like to eat except milk. Can I test thyroid of my baby?

This is normal pattern of sleep at this age. In the night if last feed is given at about 10, child awakes at about 4 in morning. Take care of her comfort at night. You have not mentioned her wt. Average Wt at this age is 10 kg. Give her all edibles in house of her choice, not to be forced.

Hi. It's normal to loose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin) , different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month. Investigations advised: Get your blood tested for (empty stomach) - CBC, S. Iron, S. Folic acid, S. Ferritin, S. Calcium, S. Vitamin D3, S. Vitamin B12. If there is any family history of Thyroid dysfunction, get Thyroid function test done as well.

How to cure fungal infection on genital area? I am suffering from fungal infection with skin rashes and itching on genital area.

Hello, fungal infections tend to flare up in the summer due to the increased sweating. So my advise would be to keep the area dry- apply any talcum powder (around the groin i. E. Where the thigh meets the genital area), in the armpits, under the elastic of the bra, etc. (because if you scratch where the infection is and touch the other parts of the body, infection may spread). Apply an antifungal ointment (my suggestion would be whitfield's ointment- old but effective cure and also cheap) atleast 3-4 times per day. The infection (itching) will subside in 3-4 days but you need to continue application till the blackness in the skin subsides which will take atleast 6 weeks. Otherwise the infection will come back again.

I got TIA (stroke) two years ago. I am doing really good right now. But, I am deeply into the phobia, that stroke can return again. I am in fear always. How to overcome it. Please suggest measures.

Tia is a warning sign of stroke. So you have to worry but not that much. I understand about your phobia about getting again same problem but dear if you maintain yourself and take some precautions then chances are very less. Please make sure: 1. If you are overweight try to reduce. 2. Brisk walking daily for 30 minutes. 3. Cardiovascular exercises daily for endurance and strength and to make your heart fit. 4. Regular intake of excess water in your diet. 5. Avoid junk food, carbohydrates. 6. Take healthy diet that enrich you with proteins, vitamins. 7. If diabetic make sure sugar level should be maintained. 8. If hypertensive, make sure bp should not reach to too high or too low along with hr. 9. Avoid stressful life. 10. Meet some physio and learn daily exercises that will keep you fit and healthy along with some modification in your lifestyle. 11. Avoid fasting - eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at fixed timings. 12. Make yourself busy by fulfilling your hobby as it will give you freshness and your mind will be diverted from normal life. 13. Take min 7 hours of sleep. 14. Avoid taking caffeine, alcohol, phenylethylamine (found in chocolate and cheese), tyramine (found in nuts and fermented meats, cheeses, and soy), and aspartame (in many artificially sweetened foods) as sometimes these all exaggerate the condition. Instead use basil leaves tea or ginger tea boiled nicely in water without milk. Do not worry about getting tia / cva. If you keep yourself relax and avoid stress you will be healthy and then no disease no tia.

Hello sir the best remedy for this is to ask your room mates to wake you up when you start sleep talking. It is mostly due to the stress you go through during the day that leads to you talking at night. If you stay alone then keep an alarm every 2 hour so that if you sleep talk you will wake up and it will slowly reduce. Hope it helps take care.

For conceiving it is only important for semen to go in vagina but Pregnancy can occur only one day of cycle that is ovulation day so unprotected sex around that day only important. Hye, thanks for the query. Being underweight can be a concern if it's the result of poor nutrition. Here are some healthy ways to gain weight when you're underweight: eat more frequently. When you're underweight, you may feel full faster. Eat five to six smaller meals during the day rather than two or three large meals. Choose nutrient-rich foods. As part of an overall healthy diet, choose whole-grain breads, rice and cereals; fruits and vegetables; dairy products; lean protein sources; and nuts. Don't fill up on diet soda, coffee and other drinks with few calories and little nutritional value. Instead, drink smoothies or healthy shakes. Snack on nuts, dried fruits and fresh fruits. Even when you're underweight, be mindful of excess sugar and fat. An occasional slice of cake or ice cream is fine. But most sweets should be healthy and provide nutrients in addition to calories. Sheera, lassi and chikki are good choices. Exercise, especially strength training, can help you gain weight by building up your muscles. Exercise may also stimulate your appetite.

there is in ayurveda mention pinda swed ..it is a type of swedan karma [phomentation] but it do some another manner .. 1.boiled a rice in milk then take this rice in one white cloth then tied it properly and warmly it rub on your face every morning for 15 days then stop it and do next month again 2.apply almond oil on your face and massage for 3-5 min at night .. by doing above thing you will get good result on pores and dark spot take following remedies 1.triphala kadha 4 tsp before lunch and dinner 2.amala juice 4 tsp + 2tsp sugar + 2tsp honey in the morning empty stomach
