Hello dear you do need medicines, yes I agree the Dr. Should have listened to you & sggsted some life style measures as well, as you have mentioned treatment without medicines, that's a long process but the benefits are life-long. You should have a healthy start in the morning relatively relaxed mornings, some light exercise, avoid bed during day time keep it only for sex & sleep, no watching t. V. No reading and go to bed only when feeling sleepy, don't go to bed and wait for sleep, whatever time you might sleep, start your morning at a fixed time, avoid intoxicants--alcohol, smoking etc; socialise, not as a patient, normally. These kind of routine initially might appear difficult but in the long run benefits are huge, wishing you all the best!

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. If one has unrecognized diabetes with very high blood glucose (hyperglycemia), then there is a possibility of loosing considerable amount of glucose through urine. Because if blood glucose goes above 180 mg, kidneys are not able to reabsorb it. So a great deal is lost in the urine. This leads to increased thirst, increased hunger, excess urination. Plus there will unexplained weight loss with severe weakness and fatigue. But if you control blood glucose with proper medications, plus dietary restriction and regular exercise, then there is a possibility of regaining lost weight and usual fitness. You should strive to maintain FBG <100 mg, PP: 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c%<6.8. When that happens you can regain fitness and gain some weight. Thanks.

Dear user. If the area of heart is cleared, then the possible reasons could be muscular pain, nervous disorders, esophageal reflex disease etc. Your physician should be able to assist you in this matter. Even anxiety and stress can cause the chest pain. Do not worry and keep calm. Take care.

I am suffering from depression because of my family and my 12th class examination this whole makes my mind so depress...
Suicidal thought is indicative of severe depression, kindly consult a psychiatrist immediately. The word depressed is a common everyday word. People might say" i'm depressed" when in fact they mean" i'm fed up because i've had a row, or failed an exam, or lost my job" etc. These ups and downs of life are common and normal. Most people recover quite quickly. With true depression, you have a low mood and other symptoms each day for at least two weeks The common symptoms are (few might be present in a person with depression) Feelings of sadness, tearfulness, emptiness or hopelessness Angry outbursts, irritability or frustration, even over small matters Loss of interest or pleasure in most or all normal activities, such as sex, hobbies or sports Sleep disturbances, including insomnia or sleeping too much Tiredness and lack of energy, so even small tasks take extra effort Changes in appetite — often reduced appetite and weight loss, but increased cravings for food and weight gain in some people Anxiety, agitation or restlessness Slowed thinking, speaking or body movements Feelings of worthlessness or guilt, fixating on past failures or blaming yourself for things that aren't your responsibility Trouble thinking, concentrating, making decisions and remembering things Frequent or recurrent thoughts of death, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts or suicide Unexplained physical problems, such as back pain or headaches General medical conditions and substances causing depression also needs to be ruled out. Consult a psychiatrist and get evaluated.

Reduce your oil/ghee intake, reduce fried items and non-veg foods. Avoid starchy foods like potato, rice, etc. Increase your fiber intake by increasing your green leafy vegetables. Fish, flax seeds, citrus fruits, sprouts will all help in reducing your cholesterol.
