Do pet dogs (puppies) contact malaria from mosquito bites? If yes, then what is the cure? What are the symptoms?

Master of sciences, B.V.Sc. & A.H.
Veterinarian, Salem
They don't actually get malaria from mosquitoes but can get a diseases with same pathology to liver with ticks mange and mites. As their hair are lengthy and covers whole body they have less chance to get mosquito borne infection.

I have a kitten. Its age 3.5 months. It has extreme fur loss prob. We can not find out the reason. It has also loose motion since three four days. It only eat rice with milk. What can do?

MVSc (Ph.D)
Veterinarian,
Fur loss may be due to bacterial, fungal or mites infection or nutritional deficiency or fall of hair which is normal. Try followings: 1, use antibiotic +anti-fungal ointment with anti mite like ivermectin should be given. Also give, vitamin a & vitamin. E both together like vimerol or cod liver oil will help to recover & develop fur.

Please suggest me. Should dogs be given a haircut in summers always? I have been very concerned about this topic. Please suggest me.

MVSc, BVSc

Hi, haircut in summer is not compulsory, if the hair become not manageable then haircut compulsory, but brushing / combing is must to avoid tangles/ ticks / flees/ lice infestation.

Hi, My dog nails has turned blood red and he keeps on licking it. Please suggest me.

MVSc
Veterinarian,
Kindly explain in detail, The redness is due to injury. Since how long it's been seen, Is any other part of your dog body has same lesion. If it's primary injury or slight infection, U can apply povidone iodine solution 3 to 4 times daily on the affected area.

Hello dr my dog barks at everyone and mostly bites evryone. How can we control its anger. It is 2 years of age and a female Pomeranian breed.

MVSC
Veterinarian, Hyderabad
Train the dog to be quite with the known persons, cover her mouth with the available mouth gags when not feeding. Check her closely whether her estrous cycles might have started. Take her near the male dog and see her response. Give her well balanced diet.

Injury, stroke, poisoning, and infections can all cause your dog to lose its balance. Vestibular Syndrome. Ear infection. Your vet can help you and your pet share a long and happy life together. If you have any questions about your dog's health, be sure to talk to your veterinarian about your concerns. If you want to try alternative medicine consult in private.
