I'm a 26-year old woman and I'd need some advice regarding my QT values. If I understand correctly, QTc intervals of less than 440 Ms. are considered to be normal, whereas QTc intervals of 440 Ms. to 460 Ms. in men and 440 Ms. to 470 Ms. in women are considered borderline. A couple of days ago I had an ECG. My QT/QTc was 412/447 Ms. at a heart rate of 71 bpm. Is this something to worry about (long QT syndrome)? I've been suffering from PVCs every day for over a year, but my heart should be structurally fine according to an echocardiogram. During the past few months I have had short bursts of an accelerated heartbeat with fluttering sensation and sometimes irregular heartbeat. I've decided to have 24-hour Holter monitoring again, just in case.
I get a feeling of slight palpitation on most evenings. Also find every 5/10th best is missing. My ecg done a year back was normal. A decade aho my heart doc had stated that a few beats missing or actually extra beats are no big deal and compared it with greying of hsir with age. Need assurance that I am ok.
My name is Dr Anil Kumar Mehta. I am a consultant physician attached to Akash Hospital. Today's topic of discussion is Hypertension and its main complications.
Hypertension is a high blood pressure which can reach to many complications mainly in old age people. mainly in diabetics, kidney disorders and other heart-related issues. The symptoms of Hypertension- Headache, numbness, body urea. Whenever hyper pressure affects eyes, it diminishes the vision, gastritis, liver problem etc.
How blood pressure is being treated?
There are various medicines available in the market such as angiotensins, blockers, angiotensin receptor blockers and other central nervous action drugs. It can reach up to the certain point of cure of hypertension. The 100% cure is not possible, you can only manage hypertension.
Rest hypertension can only be treated by changing the lifestyle. For example- maintain your sugar level, stop smoking, eat healthy balanced diet, limit the consumption of alcohol, maintain the body weight, exercise regularly. And consult the doctor regularly for the regular check up.
