What are the foods that a person should take suffering from fissures and fistula? Please suggest the foods to control the problem.

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
first get the fissures and fistula corrected surgically..its a very minor operation ... avoid constipation as the constipation is major factor for aggravating it.. Increase intake of fiber, especially fruits and cooked vegetables. An Apple or Pineapple/Pomegranate each day is helpful.  Drink 7-8 glasses of lukewarm water each day. Take daily morning and evening walks for at least 20-30 minutes each. Eat whole grains /nuts/sprouts and Muesli in breakfast Avoid refined foods like white flour, bread, pasta, pizza, white rice,or high protein foods like cheese, meat and cold foods like ice cream or chilled drinks  Take meals in a relaxed and calm atmosphere. The food should be warm and freshly -prepared, as cold food slows the digestive power. Take 30 ml/6 tsp of syp Duphalac thrice daily after meals with lukewarm water. Soak 3-4 dried figs after washing them overnight in water. Eat them first thing in the morning,

Recognizing The Symptoms Of A Gall Bladder Attack

MBBS, DNB (General Medicine)
General Physician, Delhi
Recognizing The Symptoms Of A Gall Bladder Attack

The gall bladder, which sits just below the rib cage to the right of the stomach, is very tender to touch. It is a little sac or storage compartment for bile, which is produced by the liver. The gallbladder emits bile into the small intestines via a duct referred to as the cystic duct. The entire process is meant to break down foods (namely fatty foods).

Gallbladder attack symptoms may include one or more of the following:

  1. Pain in the back right shoulder blade: Sometimes, pain radiates through to the back shoulder blade on the right side or in the middle between the shoulder blades. This is pain from the gallbladder affecting the back of the shoulder. This back shoulder blade chest pain is one of the most common yet unknown symptoms of a gallbladder disorder. This can come and go or be constant. It may be sharp, excruciating or dull. It may also occur especially at night. A gallbladder attack will typically last for one to four hours.
  2. Pain in the stomach: The most common symptom of a gallbladder problem is pain. This pain usually occurs in the mid to upper-right section of your abdomen. It can be mild and intermittent, or it can be quite severe and frequent. In some cases, the pain will begin to radiate to other areas of the body, including the back and chest.
  3. Nausea or Vomiting: Nausea and vomiting are common symptoms among all types of gallbladder problems. But only a chronic gallbladder disease may cause digestive problems, such as acid reflux, gas, nausea, and vomiting.
  4. Diarrhea: Having more than four bowel movements a day for at least three months may be a sign of chronic gallbladder disease.
  5. Fever or Chills: An unexplained fever may signal that you have a bile duct infection. If you have an infection, you need treatment before it worsens and becomes dangerous. The infection can become life-threatening if it's allowed to spread to other parts of the body.
  6. Unusual Stools or Urine:  Lighter-colored stools and dark urine are possible signs of a common bile duct block.

Dear lybrate-user, Chew your food properly. Do not gulp it down in a hurry. This causes acidity, burning and bruising of throat (food canal) and the undigested food will cause gas and bloating feeling. Eat slowly, with plenty of water, eat on time. Reduce spicy, chillie and fried foods till you recover. Avoid any packaged, frozen, preserved food. Regards.

Hi, I am having aciditi and back pain daily morning what I have to do?

Dip. SICOT (Belgium), MNAMS, DNB (Orthopedics), MBBS
Orthopedist,
Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Your back pain could be due to many reasons. It can be due to faulty posture, related to weak muscles, issues with intervertebral disc, narrowing of spinal canal, any bony instability besides many other, so accurate diagnosis is the key to proper management of the condition. But if you have a localized pain, then you can start with physical therapy, gentle anti inflammatory medications, posture care and let me know in 2-3 weeks time how you are feeling. Also there are many causes of acidity and it is best for you to consult a physician on how to manage it. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.
